Had another great morning out at NPD yesterday.Bass were lure hungry, smashing trolled lures on the way down the dam and then taking jiggs when ever I passed over a small school. So then after they made my day, I fed them some shrimp to fatten them up for next time. I nearly got to 50cm a few times.Managed 68 bass all up.

Tiddler day at Hinze eastern arm today. Of the first 10 fish that I caught and measured only 4 were legal . Hai caught the largest at 360mm. I recaptured one tagged fish that was not in the suntag database, Total tally of 43 bass all on live shrimp. oops cannot upload photos.

We went to pick up our new yearly permits this morning and naturally had to have a fish first, After doing our shrimp pots the fish were scattered but a good size. Hai was happy with a 49cm ( Could have cheated and squeezed the tail to make it a 50) We finally found a good school in 60 feet of water near Fad 0 at 10.30 am but had to leave them at 10.45 to get back to the ramp to pick up our permits by 12 noon. Final tally was only 26 bass but great to get multiple fish over 45cm.

Over the last 4 sessions, I have caught over 200 bass, I would normally be excited but the fact that there was not even one tagged bass amongst them, I feel we have been let down.We have not been allowed to tag bas for the last 3 years or so and its now showing up as very few tagged bass are caught.(rant over )
Anyway on the fishing front managed 44 the other day and 52 yesterday, mainly trolling and on shrimp.I like to troll around until I find a few and then deploy my live fish finders. Bass are still nice and fat, I would take a couple home, but to lazy to clean them and why would I when I get ocean fish off my son already filleted and cryovaced.

I forgot that when I was last out fishing the boat didnt come onto the trailer quite right. I paid the price for it yesterday, I couldnt get the boat off the trailer. So while trying to shove it off, my hand slipped and I took a hunkout of my left thumb base, nek minit the light bulb in my head come on and I backed the trailer further into the water and floated the boat off.
Anyway on the fishing front, it was bedlam again, the bass were like indians, they kept circling the boat each time I pulled up.Managed over 50 again trolling and shrimp, before I could hear the lunch time bell all the way from my place. (yes I know need a new camera )

Luc53 reacted to Dinodadog in fatties were at it again
Fatties were at it again out at North Pine yesterday, managed  over 50 with a couple of 50cm models amongst them.Trolling and shrimp done the damage. With the water level going down each day, you would think they would be easy to find, but this is not the case, you have to cover a lot of water to try and track them down. It also makes it hard trolling, when the depths change all the time.

Another hard day braving the wind and cold for 60 bass and one tandanus. Shrimp were very scarce it did not make any difference where the pots were located in deep, shallow near rocks or in weed beds. Bass were scattered with a lot of fish under 30cm.

Hai,Rick and myself ended up with 103 bass and 2 tandans this morning. Started off with the umbrellas up in light drizzle and fish small and hard to find.  With the tally at 30 bass and the largest around 33cm we were picking up a few in the same spot as last week when Rick suggested we move to a tree on the edge of the tree line. We moved from 20ft to 30 ft and struck gold and increased the size and the numbers landing 70 odd bass in the next 3 hours. The majority of these fish were between 35 and 45cm and in full roe and went hard,

Headed up the highway this morning to lake Baroon,it was a magic morning, glassed out for most of the time. I started off trolling picking up the first bass right near the ramp. As I said in the heading I managed 70 plus and stopped counting, trolling and shrimp.

Out to North Pine this morning, wet ass for the first hour and not to many fish. Sun showed and I felt a bit warmer, so headed off trolling  until I found a few. Managed 41 and one whopper catfish.Had the dam to myself, nobody else was silly enough to brave the rain, most bass on shrimp.

Another hard day with the fish scattered and in small schools. Between the 4 of us we only boated 24 bass with only around 4 being legal size. Beautiful glass out till around 11am. Going by what a couple of the bass regurgated they were feeding on small bait fish. Bit of fun at the ramp when we returned when the brand new electric winch self destroyed with the boat half way up the trailer and the boat relaunched., Fortunately I have a manual back up winch on the winch post above the leccy. The handle for the winch was in the bow of the boat so we used the ratchet and socket from my socket set that I keep in the boot. It was hard going for Mark  as the winch was very rusty and stiff glad it wasnt me.

Lot of people struggling out at NPD  But if you put the effort in and search around you can find where they are hiding,it was not looking very nice when I started off but then the sun started to show,I usually troll a different route each time and that way you get to see where the bass are moving to, then you can jig, cast or bait fish what ever your choice. Managed 38 this morning using all those methods and had the dam to myself.

Had a real good morning up at Baroon, then the cold winds sent me home via the warm pie shop. First pic is a school of bass, second pic is a school of spanglies and the third pic is when crossing the dam scary what, it goes to 148ft in some places when full.
Anyway the fishing was great, but I had to keep putting food in my mouth to stop my teeth from chattering. Managed 53 bass with the most on shrimp as the fish were that cold they couldnt inhale the lures.

Tried again to fix this by deleting this page, cookies and history then reloading the page and logging on but to no avail.
Looks like I'll just have to live with it.
Also I noticed that the button to mark "as all read" is no longer there. I assume it's part of the re-design.

Found it very hard out at NPD this morning. Schools that were there tuesday have moved on already, I had to be satisfied picking up the scraps. Managed 26 before the wind picked up and they decided they were not hungry anymore.

Picked up new distance glasses, so off to Baroon to see how they would go. No improvement fo the first 30k so had to use the old ones, then changed to new ones and my eyes got used to them, argh getting old sucks.
Anyway the fishing was great, I love this dam, its pretty and the bass are always hungry. Managed 82 bass and 2 catties.Mainly fished 3 spots, started on jigs and when they got sick of them a few on shrimp,
Luck must of been with me as a couple pulled up not far from me and I didnt notice them catching any, so I finished up and moved over to tell them they could have my spot and as I got to them they had a double hookup.

Went to NPD this morning with Stew and Hai. After doing our shrimp pots we tried at he end of Koala straight where there was a school of bass on Thursday and only boated 2 bass so we headed downstream. Hai said he would like to catch a yella and even after being told the the yella whisperer Joy was not on board he insisted so we headed to the spot and hit the jackpot.( See the sounder shots at aprox 1 hour intervals ) oneshot also gives the gps coordinates. Knocked off at 11 am with a tally of 174 bass and one forky. Luckily we knocked off when we did as the wind really got up. Sadly no yellas so Hai deemed the trip a failure. There was a few stumpies mixed in the school.

Headed off from the ramp trolling, with quite a few picked up on the way down to far boundary. Each time Ifound a school I managed to get some on the metal jigs. I tracked down several schools, some would stay around for awhile and some were gone after the second fish.I found out why they are in our area, they are chasing the bait fish. Managed 68 before the back caved in.
