  1. Product: 13 Fishing Omen Black Rod

    Type: Fishing Rod

    Price: $169.00

    Specs: 6'10 4-10lb

Action: Extra Fast Medium to Light

    Quality: A1

Experience: 13 fishing is a new brand to Australia that comes from the states and is main target over there would be the Bass fishos. Over here i've set mine up with a Steez 2508 and 8lb line and have been using it mainly as a heavy Bream rod but so far it has been able to handle everything from big Bream and Bass through to Squire, Tuna and even a hooked Sailfish. These rods are really light in weight and have an A1 build quality, they don't use Fuji branded parts as they make all their own parts in house but once you get past the stigma of having to have Fuji guides etc you'll find they function just fine. The rod will cast weights down to 1/12th and anything up to 1/2 ounce and its just as happy throwing a small crank as it is throwing a bigger spinnerbait or even a popper for Trevs in the estuaries. So if you're looking for one rod to cover alot of bases and want to spend under $200 you couldn't go wrong by picking up an Omen, i'd go as far to say i'd happily buy three of these instead of one really expensive rod like a Steez.

  2. cant find too much on tackel for the tuna social I've got a 2.10 metre 5-8kg rod with a Opus Bull 6000 reel with 30lb braid on it, and getting some small slugs and 5inch plastics, Will this manage me?

Yeah mate this outfit would be fine for Tuna also a 20-30lb leader of flurocarbon on the end would suffice.

  4. It'll either be a tornado or a storm shadow, probs 2500 or 2508.

lol Mark.. i'm sure your collection was a little bigger until those fateful trips where rods snapped :(

Patiently awaiting Andrew and Marks popping and jigging combos now.. some serious dollars there

I don't have anything as blingy as what's being put up on here and I usually only have one middle range combo at best, seeing all these pics gives me a bad case of tackle envy.

  5. hey I was wondering where you guys catch these?

    around bribie?

At Bribie you can pick them up just off the beach on the ocean side, when they're around in greater numbers I'm planning of doing a couple of launches off the beach there to chase them out of the yak.

    Cheers
