OSCAR125fishing reacted to AUS-BNE-FISHO in Anyone know any Noosa River Fishing spots at the MOMENT (flathead, jacks, bream etc)
Hi Oscar
I do not fish the Noosa River a lot although I know many people have success fishing from boats around the edge of sand bars, mangrove forests, and rock bars.
Cheers Hamish

I’m partial to the old 4inch Zerek Hot Legs , any colour.
I replace their std weedless jig head with a std jig head.
In saying that ,I recon Flathead will eat most lures dragged past there noses. I don’t think it matters too much which lure you use , just use something your confident with .
I usually drift along likely looking ledges slow skipping the lure along with the current. Flathead lay heads facing into the current waiting for a feed.
I stop and spot lock at drains ,snags, points , run throughs, visible bait etc.anywhere there’s a potential feed for a flathead your likely to find one , if you put a few casts in .
I catch most in about 1 m of water or less.

Great work Oscar. 78cm is a horse.
The only lure I have caught flatties on is 2.5 inch zman grubs with about a 1-6th jighead.
Cheers Hamish

Thanks @christophagus I actually have the minnowz in that colour- does time of day affect the productivity for these fish, as I managed a 78cm specimen early morning, however haven't caught anything after fishing around 12-2pm (run out tides).

Hey everyone, just wondering best flathead lures, and how to use them. Also, recommend some sorts of areas I should be fishing. (I am in the sunshine coast at the moment) THANKS!
