  1. Cheers Mate I did have a read of that, very well written and informative post!
  2. Thanks Hamish, Got him on 40lb mono, was on a Shimano beastmaster TLD25 combo and a pre-made wire trace and 6.0 circle hook (80lb I think) Was an easy fight but I think I was pretty over geared for him
  3. Went out the other day in the Logan river, chasing a shark Got a little Bull shark, was good fun
  4. Thanks all, will definitely work on getting some fresh live baits!
  5. Cheers all Yep have a cast net Kat- usually from the grand hotel or biggera creek Old Scaley- yeah kinda like those, without the yellow
  6. So I went around to the north wall of the seaway. Didn't catch anything apart from some pests (angelfish I think?) Definitely a lot more active though I was at least losing bait The rain eventually got heavier and I went home
  7. Might shoot around there and have a try Cheers mate
  8. Not really, Currently sitting out on the Broadwater just inside the seaway. Couple of small bream earlier but nothing now. Was catching more from the bridge near home that since I bought the boat!
  9. So off work for a bit longer Went out yesterday first trip offshore Went to some generic marks for the 24 fathom reefs No luck, very busy out there! Headed out into the Broadwater tomorrow to see what I can get
  10. Cheers Hweebe Unfortunately just after getting the boat i got covid Free on sunday so hoping weather is good, then off to work for a bit.
  11. Cheers Marty yep, new to offshore and will go out the seaway. I Have a good mate who spends a fair bit of time out there, will get him to come out the first time, and definatly waiting for the best weather/tides. All those spots sound good! I bought new Flares when i got the boat, still need to get a new EPIRB. I have life jackets on the boat but also looking at one of the inflating ones to wear full time
  12. AUS-BNE-FISHO- a bit of everything really, boat was a combination of family fun and fishing. While I'm getting used to it chasing flathead, whiting etc in the Broadwater. Next stop will be the seaway for something bigger. Ellicat- plan to for sure,it is very busy! I work a 2 on 2 off roster so when I am home midweek is free and should be quieter. Just getting used to the boat myself before heading out the seaway as it is my first boat. Also for great weather. I have been out there a few times with a mate and definitely plan to go after some Mackerel and Mahi Mahi. Just picked up a couple of 2nd hand Shimano beastmaster 15-24 kg rods with TLD25 reels for when indonget out there
