  1. Yeah my mate up there reckons hes seen a heap in the Proserpine River but.
  2. yeah been up a lot further north for a fair bit a few years back, didnt do heaps of fishing, but don't think i would be as worried in airlee, as well as in a marina.
  3. yeh i reckon hey, probably take the heavier setup as well and roll some plastics along the boat hulls, or even live bait for them. Marina up there is supposed to be filled with them.
  4. Anybody fished the Airlee Beach Marina? Going up soon and hoping to get onto trevally and tarpon in the blue light.
  5. yeah nah wont be haha, 5kg should be plenty but, 10kg overkill i reckon, especially on a 2500.
  6. @Thorbjorn Haleyeah heard they go hard on doggies as well.
  7. Just gone and ordered myself a daiwa caldia 2500LT. As far as specs go they are the exact same specs as the luvias, just a bit heavier at 190g. Does anyone have one themselves and have anything to say about them?
  8. Hundred percent mate, place is magic. Hopefully those tailor start to come out for you by then. Always good fun hooking them on the light gear and even better when theres trevs sitting under em too.
  9. @ellicatFor sure man will have to give an update once im back. Hoping for that solid trev haha. Veryy keen to hit the rocks for some shore jigging so hopefully shouldnt be too hard to get a few rats to bite.
  10. Farrr out haha thats a trip and a half in that little tinny. Brave of you to take it that far and deep. Can't say I'd be game enough to take mine out that far. Nicely done.
  11. Cheers mate had no idea bonefish came down this far. Sure to give the drag washers a flogging if i can manage to get hooks in one of them haha.
  12. Hey all, Wondering if anyone has any reports on how the landbased fishings been at Moreton lately. Heading there in a week or so, and can't bring the boat unfortunately, so just chasing any tips or reports on the fishing there in the recent months. Predominately using 4-8lb nordic stage sharpshooter on my 2500 nasci with lures, hoping to chase trevally, jacks, tailor and other pelagics. Would be awesome if anyones had success there and could share. Will be staying at Comboyuro point just north of the bulwer wrecks along that shoreline there, so will be casting along that shoreline looking for bust-ups, and a bit further north of comboyuro at tailor bight in the wash there. Also keen to hit the rocks at north point provided the swells down and just around yellowpatch as well. Thanks.
  13. Like what the others were saying, its gonna be very tough getting out with all your gear. Your running a very good risk of coming off and soaking/losing stuff. I reckon a kayak would be the best way to go for sure. Paddleboards are unstable at the best of times and unless your planning on getting a huge one with a heap of literage (which is gonna end up being not that much lighter than a yak)....its gonna be tough aha. All the best but.
  14. @mangajackwas this near the retirement village mate?
  15. @Leeroythanks mate, legend!
  16. @mangajackthanks mate thats very good to know haha.
