How to cast further with heavier lures and rods.
Noah Fitzpatrick replied to Sunnyy's topic in Saltwater
Thinner and lighter braid will move through your guides and through the air way easier. Old braid gets dryed out as well. When you get it new the good brands have coatings on em that make the line go through ur guides nicer. Shimano Grappler braid is really thin for its pe rating so that could be something worth investing in. The nomad hardbodies cast a mile, doesnt feel like they have a sliding weight in them from looking at some of mine. They cast miles, dont know what it is but they are the go for sure imo. Might be worth trying them out? -
If only Mr Sherry knew hahaha

nah a 4.1 would be fine, can fit a 30 on pretty comfortably and itll be quick as. just have to pick the day for it and dont go out in silly conditions. that being said, you would be hard pressed in the current market getting a 4m with a 30hp for under 5k id say.

I would be livebaiting if I were you, with a setup like that, probably going to be hard to flick around plastics or hardbodies. But if you do have a lighter setup and want to target those mid-size models, I'd say plastics are definetely the go. Off rockwalls I run 3-4" plastics on my 1-3kg nordic stage sharpshooter paired with a 2500 and pe 1 braid. Switch between 14lb and 10lb depending on how hot the bite is. Heaps of people would probs disagree with going so light but i reckon you definetely have a better hookup rate and its easier to tell whats going on at the end of your line. -
