If you can afford one of these https://www.galatiyachts.com/yachts/details/2768063/2019/viking/72-convertible/72/lq07/
you go right ahead and buy it. While you are at it, you can buy a smaller boat with more manoeuvrability for chasing the GT’s
good luck on whatever you decide.
a very nice vessel
Or is it better to go for the smaller 54 convertible? What do you think?

yes, it could do it....personally I`d be using the Viking's dory for the trolling, otherwise you would be paying ridiculous $$$'s for your GT, whiting and flatty fillets....
ok thanks

personally I think it`s a bit 'going overboard' for chasing GT`s, but it would be very comfortable for drifting the flats bottom fishing for winter whiting or trolling for flatties
Its main focus is for trolling. This is more of " can it do it? " more of thing.

Hey there im considering getting a Viking 78EB. How effective would it be for bottom fishing and going for GT? Also side question is there a bag limit on Marlins?

Hello I’m from Singapore. I’m here cause I’m heavily considering of moving via PR to Australia. The plan at least ( when the boarders reopen ) is to get a subclass 188 (SIV) and then get a home in the Gold Coast. Already have the Viking 78EB and a GradyWhite 300 marlin in mind. Can’t wait to come over.
Anyone familiar with Viking 72EB
