have never tried that method - figured the water is too mirky to really spot them unless they're on the top and jumping (in which case a spotlight isn't need LOL). So what kind of depth do you find them in at the bay??

@mangajack can you share where you got the prawns? Have spoken to a few people who managed to get a few that wknd - alas went out last Sat morning at low tide further upstream with no success.

Yep I found the same as well in Dec out there - the spot down near the creek mouth past the bridge is all different now - can't say I want to be the first to loose a net there either... If you have any luck let me know - I'll update as well when I come by them

Hi everyone, just started prawning late in the season last year in northside spots around brisbane - cabbage tree creek, nudgee beach, boggy creek, north pine river. Just wondering if anyone can confirm if they're coming by any since Christmas? Have headed out a few times in Dec and Jan and I've not come by any. Hitting up the usual spots at high tide in the AM as well. Is this normal? I thought they came on in Dec and Jan??
Cheers
Ben

Just had a good session in the pine. They've really turned on at high tide in the 10m hole past the highway bridge near deep water bend ramp. Took nearly 3kg in about an hour. With the rain coming though it's hard to say if they'll stick around
