As previously advised I attended the Scotty Yak Classic and had a ball even though I was the only AFO member who attended who didn't catch a fish all weekend.Other attendees were Biggles.Dusky,Feral , Rocket,Cameron, and Ken Ferguson and possibly a couple of others that i don't know.

The number of fish caught overall was a bit disappointing - probably as a result of the flooding they had there about a fortnight ago.

Fishing commence at 4.30 am each morning but it was around 5.30 before we got oug bums into gear and by then the surface bite was off. It only lasted for around 30 minutes each morning.

The event was organized by KFDU and it was really well run with a great feed each night.

We had special permission to camp at Crambs Farm and it is a fantastic venue.

I wont talk about the fishing as I don't know what it is like to catch a fish there.

Here are some fish-less photos.

This is out camp. If there would have been a prize for the untidiest site we would have won hands down.

There are 2 launching areas this is the formal concrete ramp.

And this one is only suitable for yaks and canoes but saves about 10 minutes paddleing.

Here is the " thready" parked supposedly ready for the afternoon session but I decided to have a snooze instead as I overdid the morning session and the beer in the fridge was nice and cold.

Here are some shots of the dam . It was quite eerie for the first couple of hours of each morning with the fog hanging in till around 8am.

They had a great line up of raffle prizes.

The yak was won by Barry Trapp but i reckon Biggles had the best prize as he got a big kiss from the barrel girl as well as a prize.

I scored a beaut new seat for my yak courtesy of L & S canvass. First thing I did when I got home was to install it and have a test sit in it.It is about 3 inches higher in the back and has very good padding in the seat so no more numb bum.

Thanks to Leigh and all the other KFDU and Australian Bass people who did a really good job.

Will I be back next year

You Betcha.

Cheers

Just had a phone call from Feral who asked if I had found the banana stuffed into one of the scupper holes in my yak.

Just received an email from a certain Feral pointing out you failed to mention this is the first comp where he has beaten you on the final ladder. Not meaning to rub in the doughnut, Ray...however I did promise to ensure this fact is recorded for posterity
