Magic day today after having to work out how to deploy Ricks new ulterra. After doing some of the shrimp traps We found fish at the bunyip tree but they were on the small side so we moved about 1k upstream and hit the spot lock and did not move until we ran out of bait at 10.30. Final tally was 64 bass and 2 yellas. Joy really enjoying the auto deploy on the new motor. Best bass 47

Kayak's are even cheaper.

If it has a 6hp motor it requires registration. You would need to drop to 4hp to avoid registration.

They are doing well. Learning lots and putting their learnings into practice.

Our education system needs to teach kids to tie FG knots and only convene for classes in bad weather/tides.

Following on from Max's landbased Spaniard last month, the kids had another crack at landbased pelagics at Amity Point and they were not disappointed. The highlight was a metre plus longtail tuna that Max caught on live bait. He lost a much bigger one. Max and Eva also got a few mac tuna on various chrome slugs and plenty of Watson's leaping bonito.

Lol. I don't think you are a one trick pony. You are pretty good at finding the right time to be in a certain place whilst not retired. @Neil Stratford does have a bow of many strings.
Comment was made with great respect to you both 👍.

The reason why Manly harbour is relatively highly toxic is it has no real tidal flow and a long history of works on boats there especially anti fouling removal and repainting. It accumulates and is not dispersed with tidal movements.
So in saying that most rivers and water frontages are safe to eat fish from because they either have decent tidal flow or they have minimal industrial contamination.
Dont eat fish caught in Manly harbour, Scarborough harbour or around any of the boat yards where they redo anti fouling especially.
Scarborough also had quite a high level of cholera bacteria in it back in the 80's and 90's....have not seen mention of it since though....i would not be surprised if it still does being stagnant water.
Redcliffe to Manly Harbour and all the rivers and creeks between are safe....just avoid the boat yards areas especially.

Why would you limit your searching to inflatables?
Most small inflatables do not have positive bouyancy if the tube is ruptured.
The tubes degrade with age whether they are used or not....quite expensive to replace.
Lots of sharp things about when fishing too.
If you want a small boat for a first boat I suggest looking for a Polycraft Tuff Tender boat....indestructable and a really good small fishing boat.
They are available 2nd hand for about 4k boat motor and trailer....

Nice fish ! Would have put up a great fight.
I caught my first one at 36cm a couple of weeks ago at Harry's that went pretty hard for its size. I've been seeing quite a few being reported on Facebook too.
