  1. Bass at Baroon were at it again, couldnt get enough purple lures into themselves. Arrived to a very choppy Baroon dam, waited for a short time while setting up the boat and said buggar it I came this far may as well give it a shot. So I hit the back pockets out of the wind. I had to give in around 10am as the wind never gave up, so much for willy weather, but managed to get up to 54 bass from the back al;leys and points.Pic heavy, no 50s but a lot close. Dino
  2. Yeah it has worked for me for years, I think its just a dark shape wizzing past.
  3. Out to NPD T uesday for a grand tally of 6 bass, so I thought I might slip up to Baroon this morning and try my luck. Glad I did as the bass were in the same spots as last time and willing to take lures (purple ones). Managed 68 bass, trolling and casting and a couple on shrimp. Followed a Ambulance down the highway sitting on 100k left a car distance behind him and 2 different idiots without indicators tried to fit in that space, they must have a death wish some of these people. Dino
  4. Funny you should ask, couldnt get a park at bucks pies, or the next place down the highway, I had to settle for the third place and glad I did. I am amazed that this place has only one sign out front saying pastries. Inside it is very clean and there was 3 girls willing to serve behind the counter. Its the second time I have stopped there, with ample parking for the car and boat and the pies give bucks a run for their money.
  5. When joining the highway on the way home a nice bloke moved over lanes to let me join and the idiot behind him thought he would be smart and pass him, we both came to a screeching stop.He is probably at home now looking for his brains.
  6. Had a morning at Baroon yesterday, which will be hard to beat.Bass were hitting lures all over the place, I got them in backwaters where only a few weeks a go there was nothing on the sounder. Managed 81 bass all up with at least 50 of them on lures. I was trolling in the timber and I would get 2 on the way in and 2 on the way out, they were sitting 15ft down in 80ft of water. Some more come from trolling close to the edges, some on spinnerbaits and some on MDM plastic shrimp with some scent on.Picked up a couple of pies on way home for lunch, wife was very pleased. Dino
  7. I would end up with more damage there and when I got home.
  8. Well the wifes cleaner arrived and I thought I am out of here. So headed down to the creek for some bankside bass fishing.Walked for nearly an hour through long grass for no fish and managed to stay on my feet. Thought I would try another of my favourite spots, but when I got to the area the grass was to high. There was about a metre of gravel between the water and the long grass, so I started walking along this, nek thing I am airborne.A runner of buffalo grass comming out of the long grass and into the water managed to hook onto me and trip me. So I picked myself up and looked to see what damage I had done this time. Gravel rash on both knees and right forearm, out come the hanky to wrap around one knee. At this stage the fishing was put on hold as I had to get home before I bled to death.I received a warm welcome on arriving home,DONT YOU BLEED ON MY NICE CLEAN FLOOR. Realy caring wife, I had to doctor myself up. I decided I would live, but I dont think I will be doing anymore bush bashing until the grass dies off at least. Dino
  9. You were right only a few years late
  10. NPD is slowly recovering from the floods early last year, hoping the winter shows us that there is still a few whoppers in there.
  11. Thursday caught the biddest eeltail catfish I have seen on an ice jig at Baroon. This morning a new PB forktail catfish on a spinnerbait, 8kg, its head was nearly 20cm across. Also managed 58 bass from a few schools, some onspinnerbaits and some on shrimp.First 6 pics apply, rest need to be removed. Dino
  12. I deleted the pic but I reakon it was easy 60cm and a gut like mine.
  13. Forgot to mention Baroon has some of the biggest eel tail catfish I have ever seen.
  14. Trip to Baroon this morning.First up, why do motorbike riders think they can ride around with headlight on high beam, I had one behind me making it hard for me to see the road, so when he passed, I let him have a bit of his own, funny he decided to dip his lights for oncoming traffic. Then had one come at me on high beam so I let him have it as well, soon dimmed them. They think because they only have one light they can have it on high beam, I persuaded them otherwise. On the fishing side, I found 2 good schools and managed 73 bass. Lures used were chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, ice jigs, hardbodies and a few on shrimp. Road in front of croc park all finished and looks good, just need the highway finished now. Dino
  15. Yes had a bit of fun in the north and south pine rivers for awhile, still a few of them there. Maybe winter will see a few surface in the dam.

Spent some time fishing the edges for little action so found a few schools of smallies, 52 bass and not one over 35cm.Headed home before it got to hot.Spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, minnow chatterbaits and a few on shrimp. Dino
  17. Fishing has been very tough out at NPD lately, its a miracle if you can find a school. Having said that I managed to have about 5000 yellars in my boat yesterday. They were a bit small so I put them all back in the water. Bass were a bit small also, I have been catching a few trolling. Dino
  18. Havnt been game enough to get the rest of the wet gear out of the boat yet.
  19. I was the only silly buggar out in the rain this morning at NPD. Managed to troll up quite a few bass on spinnerbaits, using 1/2oz in 10ft of water. Also some on chatterbaits and a few on shrimp. All up one eeltail catfish, one forktail catfish and 57 bass, oh and the wet ass,now I have to dry all my gear, this will upset the wife as she says the pergola looks like a cyclone hit it.
  20. Thought I would see how the back was going, so headed out to NPD for a session. Last time I had a great trip trolling, the bass were sitting in the thermercline at 20ft. Today the thermercline was at 15ft, so I had one lure a crazydeep 20ft and another a codger at 18ft and this proved successful as I got several double hookups. 31 bass all up.Downside of the trip was that some lowlife moved my shrimp pots a 100mt away and put his pots where mine was. He has a shock when he goes to find his. Dino
  21. I have one and will be using it soon as I am a bit more stable.
  22. He or she was a bit lighter on the return to the bottom, crayfish would of had a great feed, I just opened things up for them.
  23. After having 2 weeks off with a back flare up, I finaly got out to NPD again this morning. To say it was crazy was no lie,I thought I would troll a couple of crazydeep lures and try and keep away from casting, to save my back any more proplems. It was the right move, I had 24 bass before I got to the main area, although they were a bit small. I then picked up a few good sized ones as well as a 5kg forktail catfish, he was crazy as well. Ended up with 48 bass and left with the sounder lit up, but I did not want to overstay and it was getting very hot. Dino
  24. I will be fishing the bank down at my sons placeback of canungra, they have the odd tick down there.
  25. Yes I have had some good times when the water has been a bit lower,I enjoy a stroll bankside.
