  1. Boat was a bit smelly, so I pulled the floor up and found 5 redclaw and 7 shrimp, must of jumped out of the bait esky when I wasnt watching. Along with a pile of rubbish that had worked its way under the floor from finding pots after the floods.
  2. I thought I had a yella to start with. they do fight hard.
  3. Second time out at NPD this week. Plenty of willing bass, hungry for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. Never got a chance to soak a shrimp as I was having to much fun on the lures. Managed 35 bass and a large spanglie before the rain and the wind hunted me home at 10am. Dino
  4. Well there was a bloke launching as I left, when I told him what I caught he said ha ha a bloke told me at summerset that there was no bass here.
  5. Felt like a change, so headed up to Baroon, just love that dam and the size of the fish in it. Started off trolling, but that didnt turn out to good to much weed.So I decided to fish in amongst the weed like I did last time up there. Managed to drag 76 bass out including some real bruisers.I was the only one on the water. Dino
  6. Spread the towel out on the lounge room floor and got down to do my pelvic and back exercises. That was the easy part, getting back up was the hard bit, had to crawl my way up the lounge.
  7. Shoulder held up but back caved in from standing and casting to long.Just started 12 weeks or visits to a exercise prysioligist and also to physio, to try and help with my back so I can keep fishing.
  8. Dont know what happened there.Managed to get 33 bass on the chatterbait.
  9. Water still dirty out at NPD,so I said to myself, self, you got them on chatterbaits from the bank, so give that a go and I did.Started off with a few nice ones in one spot then after a heap of casts for nothing, I moved on and found a school of smaller bass that were willing to take on a chatterbait. M
  10. Not much going on in the deeper water out at the dam, so decided to go for a walk and fish the shallows from the bank.I said to myself I will stay as long as I can and see what pain sets in first. Well the back won, I only lasted a couple of hours and was home before 9am. Managed several small bass and although I tried several lures, they were all caught on the one chatterbait. Dino
  11. Clearing quicker than NPD, was light coffee.
  12. `Wife makes quiche for eldest sons big boat trips off Bundy, daughter makes cheese balls and her daughter makes cobb loaf dip. Sons boat has been out of the water since christmas, hate to see the bill.
  13. Quick trip up to Baroon turned into a great session. Hard to find fish to start but managed to drag 62 out of floating weed in 25ft of water. Had to spot lock in between massive clumps of weed. Chatterbaits and some on shrimp done the trick.Couldnt get a park at the pie shop but was lucky when I got home as the wife had just made a heap of mini quiche. Dino
  14. I went kayaking, cost me a broken rod and a small atub of lures when the rapids took me into a log and the force of the water tipped me out. Lucky it was shallow as I had my phone and camera around my neck. After 3 portages the trip was called off. Even with long pants on my legs look like road maps with cuts and bruisers. Thats the last trip in the bush basher and the hobie will follow soon after.
  15. Feel a bit sorry for some of the fish trying to get their pic taken,as when they are in a frenzy you dont have time to take a pic of them all.
  16. I would guess around a 50cm bass, I was just not properly ready for such quick action.
  17. They go down 20 to 25ft depending on what line and how far back you troll them Hamish
  18. I was going to head out to NPD then changed my mind at the last moment and headed north.Glad I did as the fishing was slow to start but picked up quicjly.First school I found, I dropped down a norries spoon, which landed on top of a passing missile that grabbed my lure and never stopped until the line broke, that will teach me for using 10lb leader. Managed 73 bass and 3 eel tail catfish from 3 schools and in front of a lot of deep weeds. Crazydeeps, spinnerbaits and some on shrimp. Dino
  19. Yes there seems to be a few around up there.Couldnt find any of the fish Rays mates tagged , or the few hundred I have tagged, must be a lot of bass in there.
  20. Done a bit of exploring up at Baroon dam, started off trolling, checking out old spots. Also had a few casts to the edges before settling down to some shrimp fishing.Managed 62 before the wind got a bit to strong.Plenty of good sized bass, with a few over 50cm.Pics later as getting used to all new computer settings Dino
  21. I dont know why but you can nearly always get a few up at baroon all year around, unlike some other dams.
  22. One of the pics shows why I call it little Canada, with all the pine forests around the edge. So was it a good day, well fishing wise yes 76 bass, just had to fight my way through the spanglies.Caught them on spinnerbaits, trolling hardbodies and shrimp. One pic shows the spanglies on the sounder. So the bad day, a bass swallowed the hook so to avoid trying to get it out I decided to cut the line, this resulted in my rod going over the back of the boat in 30ft of water. Another $250 lost.Rod,reel and line. Dino
  23. These were all on spinnerbaits cast to clumps of weeds in about 10ft of water.
  24. Decided a trip in the yak was in order, so lake K was going to be the place. While loading the yak on the car roof I damaged my shin while nearly falling off the step ladder, I braced myself a bit hard and created 2 blood blisters on my shin which burst and sent blood running down my leg. Anyway the fishing was a bit slow but managed to find several hiding in the weeds. Wife says sell that bloody kayak, but I hope to keep at it for a few more years. Dino
  25. Middle son Troy took his daddy for a walk this morning. He was there in case I decided to see if I could fly. Fishing was slow but we still managed to get enough to keep us interested. All bass taken on spinnerbaits and not far from the bank.We were doing big casts but they would follow until they seen the bottom then have a go at it.
