I just work on what you pay for or you bring determines if you get an invite on the next trip I guess its like paying it forward. A mate of mine tows his camper trailer whilst I tow the boat and our passengers pay for fuel and food, any one who shot changes us only gets one trip, and goes on our **** list. I don't let anyone clean my boat I'm VERY particular on how its done so I am not bothered about that and so is my mate with his camper. Its when the deckies bring a bag of chips and half a carton of beer, for a weekend, grinds my gears.

I agree but you will be kicking yourself when you need those tools to get yourself going should you breakdown from something that was just plain bad luck. I once got some fuel that was contaminated with water from the servo and my 6mth old suzuki just stopped apparently the don't like water.
But with a few tools I was able to determine that I needed a tow. I usually pack a shifter in a couple of sizes, a pair of pliers, vice grips, a spare prop nut and split pin, fuses, screw drivers, tie wire, and glow sticks
I have never broke down from poor maintenance practices, so packing a basic tool kit should get any one out of trouble provided that their motor is maintained. and anything that is broken is fixed before the next trip.
And ALWAYS tell someone where you are going so if things go pear shaped someone knows where to start looking

My son took this photo and it shows just how much our dog loves being on the boat unfortunately it does not happen as often as we would like as most of the places we like to fish here in the NT is in national park and don't allow pets

I currently own a 5.35 sea jay magnum tiller steer and I would have to say its the best boat I have owned in a while aches of room and handles all kinds of weather, I've had it out in about 30 knot breeze, the speed I get out of it with a 60hp honda is around 27 knots and thats a nice comfortable speed to cruise around the creeks. let me know if you have any more questions 
oh and another thing Sea Jay are daily open to "mods" at the factory

pretty sure Stessl and Makocraft are the same boat I owned a 630 makocraft cruiser cab it was a nice boat however the attention to detail was something that left me feeling that with the money I payed for it these things could have been addressed in the factory. these were only minor flaws, like i said nice boat but could have been finished a lot better. I did find that being an ally boat it was very light at the front and this was amplified with a chop I fixed the problem with water storage and a spare anchor
