Also we can sort out car sharing for those that want to come but don't have a vehicle.

This is for ALL members, new or not so new.
A few of us discussed in @Doyley's "New Tow Rig" thread about having a get together somewhere on the beach.
I'm proposing the weekend of Friday 16th - Sunday 18th February as dates when we have high tides around 8.30 - 9.30am at Cooloola/Teewah.
    EDIT 29/1/18 Settled at Teewah 9/2/18 - 11/2/18
    EDIT 1/2/18 Cancelled
Alternative place of Bribie Island has high tides 1.30 - 2.30pm.
It would be good if you could indicate your location preference and any alternate dates. Once we've thrashed it out and settled on a place and time we can organize the finer details.

40-60cm bream lures... so that’s where. I’ve been going wrong, using lures that are way too small!!!

    No luck unfortunately.
Not sure if it was me or the corn... I've not caught one fish since moving to QLD 3 months ago.  (Someone hook me up)
Plenty Carp in there though as I could see them from the bridge but also plenty of turtles and ducks. Also had a snake scare the crapola out of me swimming through the water right my way.
    Tight lines guys!!

Cannot stand and fight fish, Hip goes cannot sit in yak Shoulder goes so cannot cast. Back crook so no rough water boating At least i can still get in the boat for some calm water inpoundment fishing. Cheers Ray

If you can't find a fit let me know and I will add a category for you.

agreed. Its too hard to have jack of all trades gear. I tend to focus on a few species per season, and that's where I focus my efforts, research and gear purchases.

I used to try and fish everything, at any time. It took me awhile, but I realised this doesn't really work that well. As I've gotten older, I've narrowed my species, and hence my gear to suit.
    I fish:
    boat offshore> summer=pelagics, winter= bottom fish
boat bay> squire, whiting, mackerel, sandcrabs
boat estuary> flathead, cod, prawns, mudcrabs
Out of these, a few I'm still very much learning, others I'm quite confident in. For me, it's about recognising patterns and achieving what I set out to catch, always learning.

I do a bit of a lot but I voted land based coastal and rocks as between Straddy and casurina this does make up a lot of my fishing and is an area I can actually help people with tips and tricks as opposed to being just a deckie so to speak.

I put in the ones I 'normally' do so excluded off the rocks landbased and boat/impoundment as they are very far from frequent. Would like to add kayak/bay this year.
Oh and somehow you have not included my favourite fishing location amongst the choices ......... in my dreams .....

Yep pretty much fish where ever and when ever I can. I would have gone out today but it would have blown the paint off my outboard.
