  1. Like Kelvin said Robbie, I went the J and L style hooks you get from Bunnings. Cheap and easy to fix, they work well for me. The only trouble is the pots that have fixed tubes can be a bit of a pain.

I like @Luvits style, the only trouble is my shed I built oversized to fit my boat. The frames are over 3m up, and being vertically challenged, I'd need a ladder everytime I needed to get them down. Say Wayne, where did you get those pots? Dad used to have a few of those pull-up collapsible pots, but the place he got them no longer stocks them. I remember them being so simple and easy, would mind getting a few myself. I'm getting over fixing tubes while out on the water.

  2. If I had my choice, I don't think you can go past a redone Haines 565F. Proven, bulletproof and highly sought after. Then again trying to find one that is ready to fish, affordable and up-for-sale is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

Galeforces are brilliant boats, and from all reports so are the Bonitos.

Don't forget to consider Hooker Boats, very good also. Although I think the hardest decision you'll make is deciding which of the numerous options you've been given. Either way I'm sure it'll be perfect.

Doesn't sound ideal if u have any issues down the track, if access is really that hard?

Thru-hull or in-hull transducers are superior to transom mount, but I wouldn't seal them in. Maybe put them in during the build, and then have an access hatch in case something does go wrong. I've heard of people sealing their fuel tanks in, only to have to rip up the floor when a hose clamp let go.

  3. For all the northsiders I don't mind sharing a few spots as tilapia are filthy things.

The biggest ones I've ever caught are here, in a drain pond that runs out of the Boondall Entertainment Centre and into Cabbage Tree Creek. Access is tricky.

The biggest ones I've ever seen, and plenty of them, is here at Wavell Heights, on a drain that runs into Kedron Brook.

And the ones I've been targeting lately without success, basically because they're spooky as hell. Downfall creek at Chermside.

    Apprently corn?

I have fished bread for them at carindale but turtles are a problem. Worms work well for tilapia there though.

A guy I know fishes for them in the Albert quite often, he uses corn too. However between October and November is when the mulberry plants start to fruit, during this period he swears by mulberries, and even uses plastics that look like mulberries.
