Hi just after some advice on an estuary set up. I would prefer a 1000 size reel and a 2 piece rod maybe 1-4 kg and 6 pound line for flicking plastics and unwaited nippers from the bank.
question, is this to light for a decent flatty?
also what do ya’s all recommend for about $350 And something that has a decent cast

They are classed as a pest but the best fun to catch and eat. The bigger ones eat the small ones. They lay their eggs on weed it’s unpalatable  to trout that’s why they get such a go on

Yeah I use worms and grasshoppers or what ever is about at the time just like catching them with plastics hardbodies and spinners. It’s more fun.

I was reading the dpi stuff about not being able to catch crabs around the south coast, I have never caught one anywhere as I’m new to it all , but I love eating them, is there a ban on them here if not can anyone give me pointers on getting a few? Tia
