We ended up leaving the 40+ models alone... In fact we left all models alone 😭😭😭😭

Just used blue bait (not sure what it is, but they look like 1/2 sized pilchards).
One of the youtube videos I've watched suggested the use of a second small hook on the rig. He called it a stinger.
just as well I used it because the 49cm fish was caught with the stinger hook!

Yes makes sense. As I haven't a clue on species it would be a stab in the dark.we use lots of plastic/rubber eels here for our bass fishing,fish ranging from 1lb-10lb+.in the rivers for our salmon, trout and sea trout we use lots of metal spinners and rapalas.

I suppose what first needs to be determined is what will you be fishing for??
Your best shot is land here and immerse yourself by going out with a local and learn what you want to target and how to target them.....there are too many options here for being vague and you could not possibly cater for them all within two years.
If I was to select two lures for an overall shot at things locally I would opt for a 4" Powerbait Minnow in pearl watermelon and a 3.5" soft plastic prawn......both would be eaten by most fish if worked correctly.

As some may of seen my first post here,we are relocating from the UK in April to brisbane.out of interest,could anyone advise on what type of lure you guys use in the rivers,from the shore and on kayaks (bit of a wide ranging topic I know 😫). Just wondering if they are similar to the UK so I can stock up before heading out

Funnily enough that's what I caught if I remember rightly small little catfish.

That area can be tricky fishing, normally just catfish on dead bait, you’re better off trying with some live bait in the lower reaches of the river for a wider variety of species (Threadfin, Jew, snapper, etc).

Couldnt scrape up a decky this morning so I went to the western arm by myself. Had about 6 very small shrimp left over from last trip so I used them up at the upstream end of Ians island for 3 bass and a yella before doing some of my shrimp pots. Only barred grunter back at Ians island so I just pottered around in the trees whilst working my way downstream . Got a few scattered bass but no schools located so I went downstream to opposite the white marker where I found a small school. Back at the ramp by midday with a total of 34 bass,one yella and one barred grunter. Smallest bass went 34cm and one just scraped the 50cm mark.

got it all sorted new thermo new impeller and waterpump housing kit new prop took it for a good run for an hour or so and no alarms 🤗glad i got it sorted

It's been a fishing drought for @Kat and myself. Looking at a session tomorrow afternoon/ evening down the coast after dropping the kids back. Hopefully you left some whiting down there for us😜

Those bonito are pretty hectic fish. They would have been fun to catch. A nice snapper at 46cm too. Good session.

Hi All,
About two years ago I started taking these guys fishing. Their parents are divorced & they wanted to go fishing.
They picked  up the game really quick over two years. hence the rock fishing which they really like. The Mothers are still freaking out.
So after school yesterday we went to Avoca. Not many people which was good.
We ended up with five Bonito & one snapper. Bonito were around 34to36cm. Snapper was 46cm.
Bait was fresh squid.
I just want to add. I joined this Forum early this year & was made very welcome.
I was on another Forumn for 12 years & I ended up being banned by a very nasty woman, who just didn't like me.
My posts & stories use to draw a huge number of watchers.
