new guy to brisbane (April)

Hi all!.

We as a family are relocating to the suburbs of Brisbane in April and I will be hopefully looking for some advice and possibly some fishing friends!. Have fished all my life here in the UK, with sea fishing my favourite both shore and boat.look forward to reading the forums,asking some questions and hopefully meeting some of you in the near future

Welcome to the forum. You will be coming out of a uk winter into a Brisbane winter.... Probably not a bad acclimatising tactic....

Yep,been many times as have family there and was told to wait until the summers over first

That's great,thanks.ive only had a couple of attempts on the river when on holiday.i fished by the moggill ferry if you know it?,wasn't very successful

That area can be tricky fishing, normally just catfish on dead bait, you’re better off trying with some live bait in the lower reaches of the river for a wider variety of species (Threadfin, Jew, snapper, etc).

Funnily enough that's what I caught if I remember rightly small little catfish.
