so the mangrove masher daiwa td 20 black can hold up for trevs and jacks btw its only 6.4 feet the super casta is 7 foot 4 and is 5-10 kg would this be better

live bait and lures mate the mangrove masher is 4-8kg will this hold up with my shimano vanford 4000 for trevs and mangrove jack ill go for jacks in a couple days but i whanna target trev as im goin out to the broadie and out to strattie ill have 30lb braid and 40lb flouro for jacks and 20lb braid and 30lb mono leader for trevs will this hold up if it doesnt i can choose the supercasta which is 5-10kg

Lol I chose the vanford because of its improvements in features even though they are small I want the best reel for my price range lol I chose the mangrove masher instead of the supercaster daiwa td 20 black will this still catch trevs

lol would the 2500 vanguard be better than the 4000 for mangrove jack if it is please notify me as if it is then i can pair it with the zodias lol i saw people use 2500s for mangrove jack and trevs on the setup i listed in this message please inform me if its better with lighter stuff cheers, Myles

I wanted to pair it with a zodias do they have a model to fit with my reel for mangrove jacks and trevs

For my mangrove jack setup ill use a shimano vanford 4000 and a daiwa supercasta 5-10kg rod with 20lb braid as my main line and 30lb flourocarbon as my leader hope to catch some jacks today

Im gonna do a loan on my rod and buy a vanford 4000 reel what rod is under 300$ that is good for live bait fishing and lure flicking mainly live baiting but if i have no live bait ill flick the rod has to be 8ft and up because i want my lures to cover a learge area

lol i found 3 reels i could mix with a rod for mangrove jack and trevs they are the daiwa exceler lt 4000d-c reel the daiwa legalis lt 4000d-c reel and the shimano sahara whatdo you think would work the best for mangrove jack and what rods should combo it for the budget of 300$ also feel free to add what combo recently has been great for mangrove jack

I think i want to cast about 20 to 40 metres across because when i dont get live bait in my cast net i flick lures for gts and jacks also is there any good combo thats on sale that has a stradic ci4 4000fb thats in my budget or a combo that has an alternate reel and rod combo and performs up to the veritas 4.0 and the stradic ci4

Hey guys I've been looking to do some mangrove jack fishing with lures and live bait my budget is 300$ and im looking for a combo that I can trustfully cast long distances. The reel can be baitcaster or spin depending on what you think in the baitcaster vs spin argument feel free to add on what you think

What is the best rod for Jack’s? Is baitcaster better than spin for jacks? What line should I use for jacks? What leader? What swivel? How long should the leader be? Sinker size? Best reel? Reel size? And what bait live or dead should i use? Also any good locations I can target in a tinny

Gonna finish up this year with some Jack fishing and more Trev fishing gonna spend me Christmas money on two more rods

Here is a Queenie we caught on live biddies we released it as they are a bad eating fish we put it in the live bait tank with a biddie and let it go

These are the only w catches we were able to get photos of we got a 90cm gt 2 flatheads a 37cm bream and a whiting 

Nah mate we did some lures and live bait that day for Trev’s but after lures did not do the job we switched to live bait

Here is a lovely Trev we caught on a popper after a few jerks of the rod we got on it was a lovely fish

Here is my first shark a shovelnose Me and the boys caught while Trev fishing it took 25mins to reel in and was a cracking fight
