  1. Yeah I've noticed especially when I have a son that loses lures . I never get upset with him though. I keep the hurt inside. That's why I'm into buying when stuff is cheap. If I see a good deal I'll buy a heap of lures. Earlier in the year anaconda had x buster lures and barumbah bony shads and lazy mullets for $5 each. I bought about 10. I would never buy them for their regular price of around $50 I can't afford to lose them at that price. But at $5 each they can be thrown into Murray cod snags with reckless abandon .
  2. The the store person at Anaconda told me that when items are put onto clearance they need them sold and that the profit margin has already been reached on those items. Because the stores don't have as big a market as other stores they don't move them quickly enough to be able to fit new stock in store so they heavily discount the items to move them quickly for space. I have found that if I go into Anaconda or BCFs website and click the clearance section than you can bet that if I find something I want it will be half the price or less than the clearance price advertised. For example the team daiwa rods I bought were advertised on clearance at anaconda for $165 I went to the store and $50. The store person also said they are given a lowest possible clearance price and offered incentives to move the clearance stock. For example the person who moves the most clearance stock in the state from X period to Y period gets a free Shimano stradic reel.
  3. I also failed to mention I also picked up a Lowrance hook reveal 5 with maps for $99 down from $649.
  4. Yeah regional Victoria. It's a hard time of year to fish in regional Vic. I'll post some photos at some stage. I joined the forum cos I read it regularly and thought I might as well have some input.
  5. Haha yeah I certainly didn't need it all. I upgraded alot of gear. I have a 15 year old fishing mad son who got half of the haul. That was the best part for me he was so wrapped getting quality gear. He was posting all his new gear on Snapchat to his mates. He's Just started using baitcasters and is picking it up really quickly. So the gear is an investment. The only problem is every time I think I'm finished there's something else. When I was at Anaconda last the salesperson in fishing was telling me that they are likely to put their Daiwa black reels on clearance for $50 soon so she'll put a couple aside for me. Dead set bargain buying primo gear cheaper than K mart stuff.
