Interesting morning with the wind. It was blowing a bit when we launched so we went to bottom end of Ians Island and inly found a few barred grunter so we headed to the half way spot where we boated 17 bass before the school moved on so next spot was the tip where it was a bit uncomfortable with a good chop rolling through but the bass were hungry the wind really picked up and when we finally decided to move I did not have enough power with both 24 volt motors going flat out to make way straight into the wind so had to go sideways to get out of the trees. We then slowly made our way across the lake where we found some calmer water in a couple of bays where we increased out final tally to 42 bass,2 yellas and one tandanus after running out of shrimp. As usual the eagle shadowed us all the way and enjoyed a deed of barred grunter. Best bass 46cm.

Hey guys. One take away from my recent trip to Turkey Beach was that, with the addition of a second battery & anchor winch and with three big boofy blokes on board, my little 40HP 2 stroke struggled to get up on the plane... it managed it but took a while longer than I like to get there. The hull's a 4.3m aluminium runabout rated for 40-60HP, and currently has a 1999 Mercury 40HP, 2 stroke, 3 cylinder ELPTO motor serial no 0G772228. I'm going out tomorrow to look at and hopefully buy a used motor, a 2001 Mercury 60HP, 2 stroke, 3 cylinder ELPTO serial no 0T328216. As far as I can tell these are basically identical engines even sharing the same block, just with different capacities. So my question to any Mercury experts out there... what's the odds that I can do the swap without changing out the forward controls and gauges? Reckon they'd be compatible? I'll swap them if I have to but getting all those cables and wires out and new ones in would be a pain to be avoided if possible. Just getting the dual battery switch panel off to get at the battery leads will be a big enough pain. Matt

Just finished this spin rod for a mate. 7’5 graphite blank built for a 5k Stradic loaded with 30lb braid. All Fuji components. Loving how it turned out! This will be used to chase snapper and trout on plastics up to 1oz, as well as tuna and mackerel on slugs up to 40g. Could even cast small stickbaits at reef edges too - proper Swiss Army knife!

Manly's first try was a forward pass. Good close game though and good confidence builder for the Broncos to win when down a few of their top players.

With the big swells on the beach & rocks 3 to 4 meters we headed for somewhere Quiter. Arrived around sunrise, sunny & cool. Blackfish & bream were the go. Caught two nice blackfish straight away. Went quite. Moved to the south side of the bridge. Waited for a while, then two bream. Puppy was happy. Moved further up the chanel. Landed two more blackfish. That was enough. Called it a day. Cheers.

Oh come on @Gad, that's really unfair ...... at least let the poor bugger enjoy Friday and Saturday's games before waking up and dreading another loss, this time to the Dolphins ....... . Besides, they're having a good season so far, there's TWO teams below them ...... . On a more serious note, two cracking games (I listened to Dogs v Raiders) to start Magic Round. Go Broncos!!
