  1. To all you Fishers. Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year..

  2. G'day everyone

Does anyone have any go-to spots for freshwater eel. I just need to stock up for them for shark bait, I've already had my first shark for the season and at the moment i'm loosing serious time (school holidays). Also, if anyone wouldn't mind, do you have any land based spots for jew (possibly threadies) to.

    Cheers Hamish

  3. Hi everyone , I am not a fishing person ,but I have 20 + carp in my creek, near Tamborine 1-2 ft long, great crab bait, come and give me a hand this weekend 30/11 or Sunday.  No gill nets as there is  native fish and turtles as well, the water is only 40-50 cm deep, have to do it before it rains. Bring nets ,gaffs , fishing spear, buckets/ ice, bins.   If we walk through the water it will stir the  mud and we won't see anything, any ideas,  thanks for your time. Craig

  10. Hi everyone. Just joined AFO and looking forward to getting out a bit more now that I have retired. I have a 3.8m tinnie (Stessl Edge Tracker) which I love to bits, but rarely get the chance to go fishing. Once upon a time I would be out every other weekend, but as I have got older, the joints have begun to seize up and I shy away from the cold wet weather more now. My grandson (just turned 13) is champing at the bit to go fishing during the school holidays so I will have to make the effort, although the weather is not looking good for the next few days!

I thought I might take him out from the Port of Brisbane boat ramp, so was delighted to see some of the members assisting another with finding live bait. I too need all the help I can get so thanks to those who supplied maps and directions. I'll let you know how we go.

Probably to do with decency levels and revealing too much good stuff ;) (like arms and legs).

  16. Hi guys, I am hoping that someone out there can help me.  I have a stabicraft 459 boat and the housing that covers the wiring running down the side of the boat has perished.  It is like a stiff rubber type material that is 1800 in length with a width of 100mm (when flattened out) in width.  It has a channel on one side and a lip on the other side and it clips into the body of the boat.  Please get back to me if you know of where I can get a replacement piece.  Cheers Rob.
