Arrived to a very gloomy NPD this morning, missed out on a wet ass thank goodness. Started trolling and never stopped till I got back to the ramp.Bass were hungry and willing to take lures. I even gave some old favs a run, managing 36 bass, one whopper forkie(on spinnerbait) and one large turtle, all on lures.

That proves my point, there one day gone the next. There was plenty at the floats yesterday I left them biting there. Maybe they got ****** because I left.

At long last the bass at NPD are starting to get a bit bigger heading into winter. Managed 44 bass this morning with 30 on lures and the rest on shrimp. Also had a funny thing happen to me, sort of reminded me of another bloke,a shower of rain was heading for me, so I quickly put on my raincoat. What happened next I have never seen before, the rain split before it reached the boat and passed 10ft out on either side of me and I never got one drop on me. I might have to buy a casket ticket.

Those cheeky bass up at Baroon where I have been getting them were hiding. I had to troll around until I found a good school, lucky the bass were hungry for lures of all kinds, so I rewarded them with a heap of shrimp I didnt use. Baroon was fogged out until 7am, lucky I knew my way around.Good part was I didnt have to worry about anyone seeing me have a pidal. 88 Bass so pic heavy, managed 4 50s.

I went for a wander out there this afternoon, pig tracks everywhere along the banks. Think they must be eating the bass because all I caught were catfish.
Only thing I think they are after are the mussels as the water drops, I saw a sow giving birth a few years a go, could of walked up on her.

What's the chances of SEQ Water having a shooters' day ? haha
That last bass is a crook looking specimen.
They had a deer cull recently, they also used to have pig shooters, it was quite nerve rattling, you would hear a shot and duck quickly as you didnt know if it was comming your way.

Back up to Baroon again this morning. Gate was open at 5.15am so I went right in and on the water by 5.30am. By 10am I was off the water as it was getting lumpy, having caught 78 bass with the majority on purple lures. There was a comp a few weeks back and biggest bass was 35cm, well i had 4 over that by 7am.

Unfortunately we are not allowed to use bow, spear or net in fresh water here in QLD. We just watch them swim by or catch them on corn.

Great job Dino, what are those lures called?
Cheers Hamish
That session they were the tenterfield shrimp (humpback) and a kodger that comes from same area.
