Decided I needed some more exercise, so went for a walk this morning. At times the grass along the bank was up to my neck and the buffalo grass kept wrapping around my shoes and tripping me.At least I had a soft landing, until I was on my way back along a 2 wheel track and I went for a spill, the ground was rock hard. First thing I did was to take a deep breath, this was to make sure I had no broken ribs.Got out of it with just a bit of skin and hair missing (situation normal )
I bush bashed or grass bashed for a few hours for not many bass, so going back to the tinny (47 last trip ) or the new second hand hobie outback (28 from lake K ) As soon as the body recovers.

Why do eagles make their nests in dead trees ?
Its a case of the best view of the area, its amazing as the first few branches for the nest we would be hard up carrying .them.

Its not the first shallow yella I have caught, I used to sight cast to them down near the dam wall, You had to cast past them and slow wind back past them, because if you landed a xast near them they would take off.

Finally nailed a yella after quite awhile, I got it by default, I had just wound it my bait rod and was having a cast to the edges, when my rod buckled over and frightened the life out of me, a shrimp that was only 10cm down in the water was taken by a yella. Although it was a quick arvo session to do my pots it turned into a great time with plenty of fish.Chatterbaits caught most of the fish.
A bit angry though as some low life raided a couple of my pots, you feel like you have to put a stainless steel padlock on them.

Started off picking up a few bass from the edges on chatterbaits and spinnerbaits, then when moving between spots I came upon the mother load. Managed 73 bass and all good sized ones.Had to leave them biting as the back couldnt handle it. Bass were all wide to I thought I was as Baroon dam. Hope it is a sign that the bigger bass are returning to the area and they have not all gone over the wall.

Found a new and exciting way to get some bass yesterday arvo. I would notice a fleeing mullet and cast a lure to where I thought the bass would be chasing it and bingo bass on.I also had a little comp with lures and bait, managed 10 on each, lures were chatterbaits.Made sure I didnt stay to long, headed home before the back caved in.Wife has ordered me a stool online, so should make life a bit better.(may never come home)

I have also had a lot of trouble from sciatica, which I put down to standing to long while bank fishing. At the first sign of back pain I should stop fishing and go home, but this is hard to do when they are on the chew and are all decent bass.Off to the camp shops to find a stool, lightweight, to sit on while, having a rest when bank fishing.

Had to slip out to NPD this morning to do my traps, glad I did as the bass were fired up. Managed 37 of the hungry buggxrs, although most were small, but managed some good ones to start with from the edges on spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. Seen a bit of lean meat on the way back to the ramp. Hadto leave early as had a doc appointment, had to find out if I had a heart, lucky I did, just double beating a few times. Now I have to have a monitor in a couple of weeks for 24hours.

Yes I am taking risks as to where I am casting, as the bass are beside structure or hard against the bank in the shade on opposite bank.Worst day I lost 4 beetlespins, but some days its worth it as the bass are all big escapees.

It was dead low tide when I started this morning, but the bass were not playing. Lucky I have been to this spot several times before and knew what was going on. So I walked as far as I could to meet the incoming tide and it was fish on, fish on, etc.
Had to keep changing lures to keep them interested, beetlespins, spinnerbaits, blades and chatterbaits doing the job, managed 21 all up before the back caved in.

Back at it until the back give in Saturday morning. After catching 51 and they were still hitting lures it was hard to give in, but lucky I did because I was ratshite for the rest of the day. I was also happy that I got a few on a new creepy crawly a copy of a Nikko Hellgramite (even sounds scary)
Anyway here is some of them, more to come later, just cost me a hundred to get the computer working.Forgot to mention I got home without the loss of any blood, wife was pleased.

Water has cleared up, might have to wait for some of the fish to grow up. Still a few biggies around though.
