I suspect the croc has already vanished and the media won't follow up.

I saw all of you down the port today and yes it was a pretty dismal experience on the thready count. I gave another boaty a venting needle for the only thready i know of that was caught this morning.
I ran live herring, vibes and plastics for 1 catty.
I searched the port area twice and right up to rivergate without finding any schools, the odd singular fish with lockjaw.
I pulled the pin at about 11am or so.
I will give the port a miss until the prawns run properly.

I guess rendering a portion of dominant males inept at breeding is one way of managing the population....

Rather than polishing you could simply acid wash it to clean the alloy up. 
CT12 Aluminium cleaner is what I have used in the past....looks like it might be discontinued now though.
It was almost the same as Chemtech Blitz Aluminium Cleaner you can get from Autobarn stores currently.

Follow the directions and to not increase the strength.
Leaves the aluminium nice and clean without endless polishing.

I prefer just to dust with rice flour and shallow fry with butter.
You get the fish flavour without too much extra apart from butter.
 

I use my jetboil coffee plunger and fresh grounds.
1 litre of boiling coffee in less than 2 minutes. 
Keeps the crew happy and on edge.

In my experience they definitely aren’t year round at Colmslie, generally they are there in numbers this time of year I have found but it is looking like they might start coming in a bit later, maybe February. I have caught them from about now-July in numbers and have caught a few in October too - though when they are on you will see plenty of Facebook posts about it.

I did notice some decent sized banana prawns on the surface in 10m of water at the bulk commodities wharf at Pinkenba around the 7th january....tailor were smashing them. None showing on the sounder though.
Really struggling to find consistant good live bait areas in the Bris River  down towards the wharves lately.
Where do they get prawns around colmslie??  Ive checked that area 10 times in the past month without finding one. Supposed to be nearly year round there.

The river has changed structure woith the 2022 floods....what was 10m is now 8m or less in lots of places.

Hi guys and gal's,
I have been off the water crook since before Xmas so haven't been out on the water for a while.
The Coffs coast is packed with tourists holidaying, so it been massively busy up the creeks and rivers with boats, jet skis, swimmers etc. So I went exploring some spots away from the crowds.
Went for a float in the kayak down a small shallow creek, fishing light only expecting to be playing around with under sized bream and flatties, which was correct......at first.
Then I hooked what I thought was a tree branch and was slowly dragging it in when the branch gave a head shake.🤔
Ended up being an 85cm flatty that gave my small net a bit of a workout.😂
I was pretty stoked, after not being able to fish for nearly a month, to catch and release this big girl in such a small non tidal creek on 8-pound leader and light gauge jig head. 
Hope you all had tight lines over Xmas.
