Gad got a reaction from kmcrosby78 in NRL 2023
FINALS WEEK 3
Preliminary final 1:
Friday, September 22, 7:50pm
Penrith Panthers vs Melbourne Storm Accor Stadium, Homebush 7:50pm
Preliminary final 2:
Saturday, September 23
Brisbane Broncos vs New Zealand Warriors Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane 7:50pm
🤔 so, if the Warriors haka over the Broncos, could we happily live our lives knowing that over the Tasman Ditch, there would be 2 Mondays of over tired Kiwi school kids, and their parents blaming the NRL for timing bias .....
The grand final will be held at Accor Stadium on Sunday October 1, kick off at 7:30pm.

FINALS - WEEK 2 results…
Friday, September 15
Semi-final 1:
Storm 18 vs 14 Roosters
Big moments… Big calls… like them or not… the chooks got plucked
Saturday, September 16
Semi-final 2:
Warriors 40 vs 10 Knights
riding on a wing and a pray, the Knights did over achieve this season….
The NRL’s final’s system has again played out to the intended format… fixture season ladder finishing teams 1 – 4 to meet in week 3, for the designed (hoped for) outcome of teams 1 and 2 playing the grand final…

the games are getting fewer so one needs to savour what's left of season 2023....
this round is about emptying the fodder bin... the injury ravaged Storm v Roosters game may be played out as a 'war of attrition'..... a lot of firepower missing from both teams, patience and grabbing those 1%ers may be the way.... then again 😄
FINALS - WEEK 2
Friday, September 15
Semi-final 1:
Storm vs Roosters AAMI Park, 7.50pm
Saturday, September 16
Semi-final 2:
Warriors vs Knights GO Media Stadium, 4.05pm

Gad reacted to Angry51 in fly fly fly away.
There was a little fly buzzing around the cow yard and she saw a big fresh turd, as it was a fair while since she had eaten she dived straight down and started to have a big feed,
After a while she starting feeling full so she started to fly away and found out she had eaten too much and couldn't get off the ground.
She looked around and saw a pitch fork leaning up against the wall, so she walked over to it and climbed up the handle deciding she could jump off the handle and get enough height to get flying.
She jumped off and it didn't work. She fell straight down and hit her head and killed herself.
And the moral of the story is-- Don't fly off the handle when you know you are full of ****.

Gad got a reaction from Rebel in fg knot . why, when, where, what?
I use both... IMO there are are times and places that allow either to have it's advantage... bottom line with each is: keep it simple and any knots strong

IMO Kelvin, a fairly safe punt to have taken...🙂
the system is designed to for the lower top 8 teams to be eliminated in week 1 and the pretenders to be eliminated in weeks 2 and 3, leaving the top 2 teams to advance to the grand final... so in saying that the system, (baring significant injuries- massive form slumps) is designed so the top 2 teams meet in the grand final = 2023 Panthers v Broncos

Gad reacted to AUS-BNE-FISHO in high jetty or pier. how to lift fish?
Hey mate,
Buy yourself a dilly crab drop pot from online. You can lower this down and catch the fish in it, then pull the fish and dilly up. This means if it is undersize/undesirable you don’t need to kill it to release it.
Cheers Hamish

Thank God I use Mono.
So much easier.
I was taught the fish only like the bait.
Cheers.

Gad reacted to Neil Stratford in fg knot . why, when, where, what?
The use of Braid over mono is great in most situations . Because of its very fine diameter you can use a lesser sinker size to hold the bottom , it has next to no stretch so you have a much better chance to feel even the most subtle bites. You can cast it further with more accuracy. Braid has next to no memory , so you can get away without even using swivels . It’s down fall is it is highly visible under water , it’s fine diameter allows it to scuff easily and it has no stretch. It also may require you to learn some new knots, to lock it down without slippage.
The introduction of a leader such as flurocarbon to braid gives you abrasion resistance , makes your working end of the line invisible and gives you a little stretch to fight fish a little easier. There are also different leader materials available , ie some sink and some float - this can also be used to your advantage in different situations. In most situations you use at least a rod length of leader material , the FG knot is a good knot for joining braid to leader material , it’s very strong and it’s low profile allows it to pass through runners very easily , where as the use of a swivel won’t allow you to wind the leader through your rods runners.
If you want to have a trace separating your sinker from your hook ~ by all means tie in a swivel at act as a stopper.
regards
Neil

Great win by the Broncos 😎. We are driving down for the GF, took a punt and bought tix after last Thursday’s loss to the Storm. Looking good to be in it now, fingers crossed 🤞.

NRL 2023 FINALS - WEEK 1 results…
Friday September 8
Second qualifying final:
Broncos 26 vs 0 Storm
The Storm came, the rain came, but it was the Broncos providing 80 minutes of microbursts..
The Storm not only suffered on the score board, the injuries from this game look fairly brutal for their week 2 clash… Pap’s season is over, Coates limped off with an ankle injury that looked severe, and 2 HIA rulings may have Seve and Loiero out for the mandatory 10/11 day period
Saturday September 9
First qualifying final:
Panthers 32 vs 6 Warriors
This game was always destined to be an uphill battle for the Warriors…without Johnson, the final score told how steep the incline was..
Second elimination final:
Sharks 12 vs 13 Roosters
Fancy that, the Sharks were into week 2… until the Chooks did a Lazarus in the dying stages of the game, and made the Sharkies the first of the week 1, elimination fodder….
Roosters sneaked in to be week 2 fodder….
Sunday September 10
First elimination final:
Knights 30 vs 28 Raiders
well, that turned out to be one hard fought out game… Raiders have their Mad Monday, tomorrow…
Knights move up to the fodder bin, for finals week 2

Anyone having trouble entering tips this week? When I click on 'My Tips' it just spins in cyberspace? Of course, there is a chance there is some foul play at hand ....... 😜.
