  1. Thanks, Julian, a few photos would be really useful.
  2. I know they are hard to light, but apart from that, does anyone have any thoughts about smoking fish? I have a few trevally fillets frozen after a recent charter trip that didn't yield much else and was thinking about smoking them because I don't particularly like the taste of them. Just saw Julian's (demarc) report on an overnighter where he says he smokes the trevally so thought I would see what equipment, fish and methods people are using. Thanks, Steve.
  3. I have got a couple of Snyder Glass surf rods that have lasted without any problems for at least 10 years. They probably only get used a couple of times a year these days but the quality is good. Also had a 9 foot bream rod that I have misplaced somehow but it was a great rod for bait fishing for bream. Not sure where they are made these days, but I guess same applies to most rods now. Pretty sure you would be happy with either brand.

Maybe, but he still has a spring in his step.
  5. Watch the tide and the sandbanks. Plenty of shallow water around that area but good channels as well - just got make sure you know where they are. Try up against any of the million mangrove banks for flatty, bream or jew. I think there is a pretty good map on Nugget's site or you could pick one up at the Gem on the way there. Good luck, Steve.
  6. I tried similar search a few years ago and the closest place I could find was in Gladstone.
  7. Have to agree with Ray, great bream bait when they are fresh. Second only to live herring, but much tougher on the hook.
