  1. Never seen such a big Hussar or Moses. Some of the best eating fish going around. Looking forwards to Winter reefies. Don’t see those conditions much off Mooloolaba often.
  2. In theory yes, however that depends if you have stable a gps signal. If using it from a boat the home position won't be where the boat is if the boat is drifting or moving. There is a feature to have a dynamic home point so the controller is the home point and it is updated periodically. This is what I will use on the water, how accurate that will be in reality with wind around etc is an unknown at this point i'll have to test this in an open field. Even the other day I lost sight of it in the distance and stopped it immediately. I knew I had flown directly away from my standing point so I simply reversed it until I could see it again. When I saw it again there was an bird of prey circling it, so I quickly lowered it down closer to the water hit sport mode and got it back asap. I even had swallows having a go at it the other day on a river. So many variables in real life that put it in the water. I have insurance on it but you have to recover the drone to claim. That's another story.
  3. Max Height legally is 120m and range is 2km however legally has to be in sight of the operator at all times. Being a small drone you would not see it 2km away. Even though I'm growing in confidence using it, I still get scared as it flies into the distance hoping it does not loose connection.
  4. It has limitations but, being so small it's going to be very handy. Once I combine it with some boat Gopro footage and underwater footage it will add another dimension from the sky.
  5. Another test video. Loving this Spark drone. A little clip from Wivenhoe spillway and a quick flyby on Bribie Island yesterday. 674241EB-8B95-4D02-A278-B2AB234309B4.MP4
  6. I don't really know what you mean. I guess it would be because I stopped recording and over lapped the videos.
  7. It is just past Agnes Waters north of Bundaburg. Southern end of the Great Barrier Reef.
  8. The drone not so good in low light at the start of the vid and hard to manually change light metering when trying to fly at the same time. This is from last night. Produce_12.mp4
  9. $10 bucks and a new drone and you have a deal.
  10. I bought my first drone a while ago now and after nearly losing it in the drink, l sold it. Well with the up and coming trip to the Kimberly l have bitten the bullet and l’m trying again with a less expensive drone, a DJI Spark. I have learnt some lessons from the last experience, so l feel l’ll do better this time. So far l’ m happy with the decision. I have 4 months to practice flying it, so when l get to the Kimberly l have a reasonable chance of capturing some decent footage. Here is s photo from tonight over Samford Valley. In between showers l took a quick 30 second vid of a local creek flowing. Very happy with the quality of the video and as my flying gets better the videos should too. 11. You're building your own fleet. (Correct use of You're/your just for Kel's sake )
  12. I have work commitments on Friday but I'll keep an eye on it incase the good run through to next Monday, Tuesday. I'll wait on the weather.
  13. No idea at this stage. See as it gets closer.
  14. I should be back from the Kimberly then. Hope to get up there then and definately before then.
  15. I haven’t seen or heard of a Black Queen for many years. Was the go to rod in it’s day for bream. Maybe a collector would be interested?

Better to be doing them at home with all the tools and the cold drink. Far better than spoiling a trip and sweating on the side of the road. No doubt you will see every holiday period where the boat has not been used for sometime and their they are on the side of the road.

If they a round or square axles and the dimension of the axle. The guys just down the road from you couple mate can give you all the advice you will need. Or look up your trailer brand and specs and that shouldl tell you. Main thing is that you use good quality grease. I prefer to use Jap bearing but Chinese are fine if you do them yearly and use good a wheel bearing grease. Couplemate should have everything you need.

I do mine every 12 moths for sure. Since doing that I haven't had a problem. (Of course with the exception of earlier in the year when DJS mobile trailer repairs let me down twice which resulted in the bearing failure)

You can do just the basics, keep on top of trailer bearings and brakes most importantly. Remember the fish can't see what your fishing out of. I just enjoy getting the boat to look the best it can for my own satisfaction.

I told Fastway customer support that, the courier who wouldn’t answer his phone, who didn’t scan the parcel into the depot or out of the depot is not a courier. He’s just a guy that does not follow procedures and delivers stuff if and when he feels like it. He should be sacked. Then they rung me again to follow up a week later to see if l finally received the goods and l told the same story to the same person, who rang a week earlier. Talk about hopeless.

It’s a bit gel like and you don’t need much at all. I have been quite impressed with the Star- Brite brand, so sticking with it. The rust remover is very good too. Hope the thread can be helpful for others looking to refresh their boats.

I’ll do search for Julian’s post tomoz. Does the $15 include delivery via ‘Fastway’ Reading some of the reviews some people are expecting miracles. For what it is, I’m happy with it.

    Boat Maintenance

While I'm doing some maintenance I thought I would share the products being used and if other have other suggestions etc put up their thoughts. Gunnel rubbers before After Deck This product Magicezy had mixed reviews but for my purpose I was happy with the results. There is a hairline fix and a chip fix. The chip fix is a thicker consistency and I repaired 4 small chips in the deck where sinkers had chipped the gel coat and the black fibreglass could be seen. It's not a perfect color match but good enough that you have look closely to find them now. Before the stood out. Before how to apply scrape it off This is on the dash near the window, I couldn't get right in there so you can see the difference between where I started and finished. It looks like a smear but thats better that a black crack easily seen IMO. As I said, it is not perfect by a long shot, but to have this color matched and redone by a Fibreglasser professionally it would far more expensive and time consuming. It's expensive for the small amount you get $25 but in 30 minutes I did every gel coat crack I find and although you can still see them, they are 4 time less noticeable. I am going to mix 2 colors cream and oyster white to see how close I can get the correct color and do top coats.
  24. That’s a shocker @Marris. People like that eventually burn all their bridges.
