  1. They are beauties mate. Good stuff. What is the story with the net free zone? Did someone buy them out or were they just banned or???
  2. Hey Graham, Welcome to the site mate. No rules broken that is a good question. Here is a thread about them I don't know who owns them or how to get in contact but I hope the thread helps or someone here knows.
  3. Next Oyster Reef Restoration Project meeting is Sunday 29th of April at 11am. Please PM me and I can send you address. It's in Wynnum.

Also if you would like to keep informed please let me know and we can add you to the club members page. It has updated information on the project and how you can get involved.

    :)

  4. Could you still eat it? Where there more than just the pin bones and rib bones?
  5. I expected a great report but that is incredible. What an amazing thing to do. You left out a lot of the tough things you would have had to put up with like mozzies. I will be dreaming of that fishing hut by the river forever now and i think i will need to do a trip like this next year. Sorry in advance for all the questions you are gonna get. Thanks so much for sharing this unique and extream adventure.
  6. Good call. It is a great product. Thanks for the tip

    ROAD TRIP!
  11. I just look at notifications and unread content really and don't check what view I'm in. I am on Grid if that helps.
  12. I spoke to one of the people who has been heavily involved in this yesterday. Apparently virtually every raw prawn that we import from Asia today has white spot in it. Politics lets it happen. It seems ridiculous that we compromise our prawning industry and our wild prawns and very strange that the media hasn't gotten onto this. In the mean time never use imported raw prawns for bait.
  13. Hey Ross, There was someone planning a trip there a few weeks ago but I didn't find out how they went. I bet the flatties are thick there with all the prawns around at the moment. I'd love to see a few picks if you get amongs them
  14. I have not heard any reports of people getting ciguatera poisoning. Clearly that is anecdotal. Didn't old sailors fees some to the cat first?
  15. I had to google Marlo. Wow that place looks mint. I have not had any luck with Diawa Reels. I bought a Sienna at the same time and the Diawa went grindy after first fish. Both reels were treated the same. Not a good enough sample size so only anecdotal.
  16. I'm really sad to read this mate. What are people expecting to see on a fishing forum? Especially as I know how careful you are at looking after your catch and that nothing is wasted. While I respect peoples decisions to be vegans, and people who practice catch and release, I have thousands of years of catching food for my family in my Genes. It is one of my greatest pleasures feeding my family and friends with fresh fish. If we all do the right thing and keep to bag limits and size limits it is one of the most sustainable food practices. I feel lucky that this trolling has not happened to me and I'm yet to see this. I've loved hearing your stories first hand so would love to read them in a report too.
  17. That all sounds fun as. In a week or so I will have some more time and would like to take you up on the offer of a decky spot if it ever worked out?
  18. Ellicat is a legend.
