  1. 3 people went to NPD this morning and one person caught a 25cm bass and then we ran out of fish. no name or photos.
  2. Only heard one big splash Cheers Ray
  3. The weather was kind to us today although a bit cool until the sun hit the water. The shrimp traps productive but the fish slow. We thought we were onto a good session first up with the firstf ew fish in the high thirties but it slowed drastically. Final tally was 28 bass and one unnamed decky only boating 3 fish. Even the eagles were on holiday. Cheers Ray
  4. Bit windy and a few showers today at the western arm. Got plenty of exercise putting on wet weather gear and removing it when the sun came out.. We still managed 65 bass and one tandan and a few barred grunter for the eagle . A lot of the bass were between 30and 38cm. Mark caught a tagged one but I do not have the details yet. Cheers Ray
  5. when the shrimp supply got low Neil started to throw a blade and although he got several bass to follow all he caught was that small spangly
  6. Another great day with 72 bass tagged and released plus a couple under 20cm that were too small to tag. The usual big tandans and quite a few spangled perch stealing bait. Only went to 2 drop offs upstream and ran out of bait and back at ramp by 10am.
  7. 3 of us went to western arm this morning. After doing our shrimp pots we found bass and barred grunter in among the painted trees. The eagle had a good feed on the grunter and one small bass that swollowed the hook. Hai just pipped me for the smallest bass his 20cm won the day. We ended up with 48bass knocking off at 10am. Best bass only went 40cm. Cheers Ray video-1643518896.mp4 video-1643518890.mp4
  8. Rick Hughes team south brown bass 52cm. Looks like a tandan but Rick never catches them.
  9. Good day for some at Baroon Pocket today. Rick not very happy when a large fish ripped his rod from his hand whilst he was fighting it. ( Possibly a large mary certainly too strong for a large bass or tandan). I am afraid that i laughed at the expression on his face as the rod speared into the water. At first fish were hard to find apart from spangled perch and by 9.30 we had only boated 16 fish but 6 of them were over 50cm and after spending a fair bit of time trying to find the lost rod we moved upstream where we found a good school that we sat on till we ran out of bait at 11am. I even managed to get a photo of Rick catching a brown bass he normally releases them off the side before I can take a photo. Stop for a mandatory bucks pie at Landsborough on the way home. Cheers Ray
  10. Back to old stamping grounds today with Craig after an unnamed decky locked his car keys in the boot at a servo. 3 bass,1 yella a few spanglies plus culling around a dozen forkies. Sat back and watched the sailing boats to relieve the boredom. Cheers Ray
  11. Went to Wyaralong with Rick, Joy and Hai this morning. We were quite comfortable under the umbrellas and discovered a semi submerged submersible up near the winery. Highlight of the day was the hot chips with chicken salt from the hamburger shop in Beaudesert.
  12. good to see Stosur advance and Kyrgios doing trick shots.
  13. Fishing a lot better than Hinze we could only manage 11 bass on wednesday/
  14. Went to western arm with Aaron, Kynan and Sera for an educational but non productive day for a total of 11bass ( Biggest 33cm to Kynan) and 2 tandans.Main purpose of trip was to show Aaron a few spots which was achieved but the only problem was the lack of fish. The fish have gone right off with the rise in the dam. They may be down near the dam wall but we had to go upstream for our shrimp pots. Cheers Ray
  15. wish i knew i am still on learning curve.
  16. no just ratshit fisherman should have gone downstream
  17. Went to the western arm this morning with Rick and Joy having high hopes as Rick did very well on Monday morning with well over 30 bass including a 52 and a 48cm bass. We found plenty of barred grunter but not many bass. Best 3 bass went 33cm,32cm and a pinched tail 30cm plus 11 all well under 30cm.Highlight of the day was when we returned to the ramp and met some dedicated members of the local stocking association in the process of releasing 60000 healthy bass fingerlings from Redate hatchery. Good to have a bit of a chatter and see our permit fees being utilised .
  18. Percy has invited all his mates to roost on the ramp. It certainly cleans out your sinuses. I wonder if there is any truth in the rumour that it kills covid germs.Apart from the forkies there was no great number of fish but the quality was well up there with Craig increasing his pb yella to a 50 cm football. .
  19. some redclaw at the end in this https://www.facebook.com/hai.bui.290787/videos/402402531087638
  20. I have blue eyes and writing on measure is blue. Caught on live shrimp NPD 5/1/22
  21. Rick set a 12 year record at NPD first time he did not catch a reportable fish. He avoided the dreaded donut with a 6 inch forky which he flatly refused to pose for a photo. Fishing was tough with only 5 bass, one yella, one tandan and 5 forkys boated all caught on live shrimp. Andrew and Adam were happy to take some fish home for a feed and Rick was in Joys good books as she did not have to clean any fish.
  22. Not many recorded in catch records over last 4 days
