  1. Carpet be too much trouble to paint
  2. Completely gutted it took over a day as I had to remove 2 X 24 volt battery banks using a crane. Brian uncertain if I saved any weight the reason I went ally was because the boat is stored in the open and the ply only lasted 7 years. I was lucky that I scored some 6m lengths of ally solar panel support raking that I was able to use for the framing.

    tedious job

Been putting it off for a while. Did a temporary patch job a couple of months ago but finally bit the bullet and started. Been going for over a week and starting to see some progress. Neighbour been enjoying me cutting up 2mm plate on the saw bench.
  4. used to be some good sessions at the pump station at night.
  5. Sent back to the bottom with release weight.
  6. After a donut at NPD on Sunday the Hinze western arm turned it on for the 3 of us today. Very cool breeze first up but we persevered and headed down to the bay past the bay with the red float. About 100 yards before the first tree I spotted a few fish on the sounder and hit the spot lock. We pulled around 40 or so bass from there before it went a bit quiet around 8 o'clock. We then tied up to the tree and ran out of around 10 .30. We had to fish the shallow side of the tree ( 28 to 30 feet) as the deep side ( 45 feet ) was producing the odd fish with barotrauma. Tally was 100 bass when we ran out of live shrimp. Only 6 fish just over to 40cm mark and 14 under 30cm. All tagged and released except 2 bleeders that went to the eagles.
  7. The only question at NPD yesterday was what colour icing we wanted on our donut. Have a look at the video that Hai took from the floats of the eagles nest. Impressive zoom . The small hat on the RHS belongs to 5 year old Jake . What a marvellous young polite gentleman he is. He did not get bored once and is so quick to pick things up. Showed him once how to install the rod holder on the gunnel and insert the rod in the holder and move the clip to secure the rod. Did not have to show him again. Something that some of other older persons struggle with. Shame we could not get him onto a fish. video-1661069967.mp4
  8. When we used to cable our redclaw pots in NPD quite often they were slashed open and the pot destroyed. A rubber band on the clip of shrimp pots is a good indicator. At least this time the pots were closed and the bait contains left in the pots. By the lack of shrimp and small redclaw I estimate that the pots were raided the previous day.
  9. Another good day at hinze western arm our shrimp traps were very disappointing with only 5 shrimp in them after rebaiting them last Sunday. Think we may have s sharefarmer there, If lean next trip we will have to move them elsewhere. Fortunately i had a lot of shrimp in my tank at home that I had brought along. We went downstream to our favourite group of trees We pulled up to the first isolated tree and caught 30 odd bass in the first 90 minutes with most of the fish around the 30 to 33cm mark. At the end of the session the school moved to the other side of the tree which was 47 ft deep compared to 35 feet on the other side of the tree and we noticed that the fish were suffering from from barotrauma so we moved to the next group of trees where we caught all the fish last Sunday. The fish were a better size between 35 and 40cm and when we ran out of bait the tally was 46 bass. Hope the shrimp traps are more productive next trip
  10. Good scramble up that track with a yak especially if it is raining.
  11. Foggy start. All on live shrimp. All but one off the one tree. Been a while. Cheers Ray
  12. Best day for a while at the western arm today. Launched at 6am and headed downstream and tried some new areas up in the eastern arm with nothing showing on the sounder so we reverted to some of our old spots for still nothing until we saw one fish against an isolated tree which Rick promptly hooked using a live shrimp. We persevered for 15 minutes for nothing else and tried a couple of other trees till Joy was on . We stuck to this tree for 3 hours and the fish were passing through intermittently. The fish seemed to be travelling from the deeper side of the drop off at 45 feet to the shallow side of 30 feet . We were back at the ramp with a tally of 28 bass between 25 and 43 cm with the majority of them over 30cm. All tagged and released.
  13. Seeing that we could not catch a decent bass at NPD and Hinze recently Hai, Rick ,Joy ad I decided to take my live shrimp for a drive up to Baroon Pocket dam this morning. Sadly around 6 of them did not return home. I actually hooked bass on one of them that I lost beside the boat and the other5 either died from drowning or got picked by what may have been spangled perch. Also noticed the rangers installing a noxious fish disposal bin near the ramp when we came in at midday. To rub salt into our wounds we could not get a park near Bucks so we had to drive round the lock and get Joy to run half a mile to get our pies. Cheers Ray
  14. water still murky viz about 18 inches.
  15. Probably better fishing below the dam wall with all the fish that would have gone over.
  16. Today the PRFMA arranged for Members to fish in the Sailing Club area of North Pine dam where we measured and weighed all fish caught. We found the fish a bits scarce and much smaller than previous events but that may have just been me and the area that I chose to fish. We only boated 45 bass and one tandanus. We stopped fishing at midday to avoid the Friday traffic on the gateway.
  17. Went to Hinze western arm mainly to rebait shrimp traps that have not been looked at for 3weeks. Plenty of small redclaw and some shrimp in the traps. Had a bit of a fish n a few spots but donutted. Lost my mobile near the toilets when i placed it on roof of car and drove off. Anyone have a cheap unlocked phone for sale?
  18. Beautiful day on the water today . Shared a donut with Craig tried everywhere from the tip of the island up to the powerlines. Cheers Ray
