Who is the obvious winner in the first game ? I would say Broncos, but can they shake the Storm hoodoo ?
Hoodo? Kryptonite more like it 5284 days... 2009 since they have had a win at suncorp over the Storm.
I'm not that confident that some Broncos have fixed their game losing mental switch offs, in the last 7-8 days...
but it should be a good spectacle to watch -

while standing naked on the tip end of a thin branch, while not trying to make a show of myself, I would say that the Asakura Clamer lure may have been thought up with bream, whiting, dart etc in surf/beach areas in mind.... slow rolling across the sandy bottom would be my way of thinking.

ROUND 27 results…
THURSDAY AUGUST 31
Broncos 22 vs 32 Storm
Is there any hope of ever ,weather proofing the horses, against these southern microbursts… I’m guessing there is already a released warning of severe storm with probable microbursts, for this coming Friday night, for Suncorp …
FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 1
Sea Eagles 54 vs 12 Wests Tigers
for those in Tiggerland, this game was the ending of a very long season.
With no new NRL team joining the comp in 2024 the positive is, 2024 won’t be any worse.Rabbitohs 12 vs 26 Roosters
Talk about spotlighted bunnies in the cross hairs….
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 2
Dolphins 34 vs 10 Warriors
The Warriors were resting/without a few key regulars, but the Dolphins were on a mission to finish their inaugural year on a high… with extra fire power coming into the club next season, along with some buying they will do through next year, 2025 may be the start of the Dolphins competing on a high level with the heavy weights of the completion.Panthers 44 vs 12 Cowboys
The Panthers take out the 2023 minor premiership… love them or deeply dislike them, one cannot deny them.Dragons 12 vs 32 Knights
The Dragons already looked shell shocked before the kick off…
SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 3
Titans 34 vs 30 Bulldogs
Both teams have the traditional mad Monday tomorrow, it’ll be the highlights of each teams year…
Sharks 24 vs 6 Raiders
both teams are finals canon fodder, whether wk1 or wk2…. fodderBye: Eels

another early posting... to keep Angry51 a happier chappy.
well the 2023 regular fixture season is done and dusted come Monday... that went fast.
Round 27 tip... some in the top 4 will rest a lot of players for the finals... one side won't, as they have been resting the odd player at a time, during the last few rounds.ROUND 27

ROUND 26 results…
THURSDAY, AUGUST 24
Panthers 18 vs 32 Eels
Fancy that… maybe Dylan Edwards’ manager needs to tell the Panthers he needs an upgraded $$$ contract.
They had no defensive or offensive organisation whatever with him being rested for this gameFRIDAY, AUGUST 25
Warriors 18 vs 6 Dragons
The Dragons flew to NZ, and the Warriors battered them back…Dolphins 10 vs 34 Cowboys
Yeah well, the Dolphins had chances that they could not convert into extra points, along with rusty, off sync players coming back from injury periods… in saying that the Cowboys manured all over them in defence and attack.SATURDAY, AUGUST 26
Storm 37 vs 16 Titans
there was nothing new about this game, to see or write home about… oops, paps is back.Roosters 32 vs 8 Wests Tigers
only 1 more game… just the one more game… then all of Tiggertown can be excited for season 2024.Raiders 18 vs 29 Broncos
Yeah well, maybe Sticky should be going off at his player for becoming a serial tripper, and not about the iffy interference penalty, that way he may be able to keep 13 on the field..SUNDAY, AUGUST 27
Bulldogs 24 vs 42 Sea Eagles
is season 2024 going to be good for the Doggies?Knights 32 vs 6 Sharks
That was a very disorganised Sharks outfit

ROUND 25 results…
THURSDAY AUGUST 17
Cowboys 12 vs 32 Sharks
The Sharkies are looking reasonably goodo to be Finals week 1 or 2 fodder… depending on how the final 8 ladder ends up.
FRIDAY AUGUST 18
Warriors 29 vs 22 Sea Eagles
What can I say…. it’s good to see Manly dig deep and fight out a hard game, for a loss LOLEels 12 vs 34 Roosters
The Roosters feasted on smoked eelsSATURDAY AUGUST 19
Wests Tigers 24 vs 23 Dolphins
All of Tigger’sville were in roaring, pawing, and clawing celebratory mode Saturday night… and so they should have been, after all their side beat half a Qld cup team, on a dodgy penalty LOL
Titans 14 vs 40 Panthers Cbus Super Stadium 5:30pm EST
Yeah well, the Panthers keep on panthering, while the Titans keep on disappointingDragons 28 vs 38 Storm
The Dragons put in an ‘A’ grade performance, but the Storm came from behind to rain down on one of the Dragon’s best games of the season.SUNDAY AUGUST 20
Knights 29 vs 10 Rabbitohs
The Knights slew the Bunnies, and the Bunnies are watching the Roosters gain ground on them.Raiders 36 vs 24 Bulldogs
The Doggies came to play and forced the Raiders to dig deep for the win.Bye: Broncos

ROUND 24 results….
THURSDAY AUGUST 10
Sea Eagles 12 vs 24 Panthers
Manly went in with a game plan along with the mind set to play to it and stick to it and had them 12 – 12 at half time.
In the 2nd 40 minutes the Panthers slightly adjusted their play, and smothered the Manly plan.
FRIDAY AUGUST 11Sharks 36 vs 6 Titans
IMO on the night, the Sharkies looked good against a stuttering Titans outfitBroncos 54 vs 10 Eels
The Bronco’s hardening offense and defence was on full display during this game, but in saying this… one has to remember the Eels were without a couple of their key players, again.
SATURDAY AUGUST 12
Rabbitohs 26 vs 14 Dragons
Jet lag did not affect the Bunnies in the tropical hamlet of Cairns, having played games in Perth and the Sunshine Coast before this match.
Wests Tigers 22 vs 30 Warriors
The Warriors ran out to a 12 point lead in the first 15 minutes, but the Tigers hit back to go into half time, 16 – 12.
The Warriors defensive effort was on and off throughout the whole game, but take nothing away from the Tigers they fought all the way to their brutal death.Roosters 30 vs 14 Dolphins
The Dolphins opened up an early 8 – 0 lead, and lead 8 – 6 at half time The Roosters took off in the 2nd half, with the help of the Dolphin’s, Ray Stone copping 10 in the bin, both Lemuelu and Kenny Bromwich failing HIA’s and Jeremy Marshall-King’s failing to see out the match because of his recurring shoulder injury.SUNDAY AUGUST 13
Storm 48 vs 2 Raiders
The Raiders came out on fire, and started the scoring at the 5 minute mark with 2 points from a penalty kick… then the Storm ran in 9 tries.Knights 42 vs 6 Bulldogs
fancy that…Bye: Cowboys

ROUND 23 results…
THURSDAY AUGUST 3
Roosters 26 vs 16 Sea Eagles
Interesting stats for this game...
Possession Manly 53% - 47%... Completion rate Manly 88% - 71%... Kicking metres Manly 622 – 346… Errors Roosters 11 – 9… Penalties conceded Roosters 15 – 6… and yet, the Roosters never looked like losing. LOLFRIDAY AUGUST 4
Titans 18 vs 28 Warriors
The Titans were spirited for the 62 minutes with only 12 on the field, after having a player sent off just shy of 20 minutes into the game…. and the 2023 Warriors keep on warrior-ing on
Panthers 26 vs 6 Storm
the positive for the Storm is they kept the Panthers under 30…SATURDAY AUGUST 5
Cowboys 14 vs 30 Broncos
2023… 2 meetings… 2 Broncos wins.Dolphins 28 vs 30 Knights
this game was another close Dolphin loss, with a 2nd preseason, and some handy 2024 recruits coming, 2024 is looking good for the Dolphins.
Rabbitohs 16 vs 26 Sharks
WTF… both teams should have been compelled at fulltime, to have had swabs, and provide blood and urine samplesSUNDAY AUGUST 6
Eels 26 vs 20 Dragons
Bolt aways, errors, and some periods of big defensive efforts, kept some interest in this gameRaiders 22 vs 18 Wests Tigers
Both teams played good footy at times, and both teams played crappy footy at times…Bye: Bulldogs

ROUND 22 results…
THURSDAY JULY 27
Broncos 32 vs 10 Roosters
Defence, Defence, Defence…. leading into the home straight for their Final’s run, across the field the Bronco’s are lifting each round….FRIDAY JULY 28
Wests Tigers 32 vs 18 Rabbitohs
Now, that the NRLW season is underway, the Tigger fans have something to cheer about…
Storm 46 vs 16 Eels
This game was a Storm shut out, of the Eels…..Personally I found this dominate shut out a little surprising. The Storm were down had 2 dominate forwards, and both their ‘go with’ centres out of this team…. why were the Parra halves, dummy hooker, and fullback not targeting those positons through out the game.
SATURDAY JULY 29
Raiders 16 vs 28 Knights
The second surprise, out of this game for me, is the Knights could actually end up as Finals first round cannon fodder….
Dragons 18 vs 24 Sea Eagles
Having lost 10 games straight at WIN Stadium, since 2003, this Manly team has something to celebrate… once again the Dragons were left with regret….
Panthers 28 vs 0 Sharks
being unable to beat any top 8 side, the Sharkies should be happy the black cats just wanted the win… and not a slaughter.
SUNDAY JULY 30
Bulldogs 23 vs 22 Dolphins
Like many games, this season there were some dubious official calls… but goodo for the Doggies and with a minute of play to go it was saddo for Isaako missing the possible winning conversion kick.
Titans 22 vs 13 Cowboy
In an up and down match, the previously six straight winning Cowboys, went down to the Titans… as Effie Stephanidis would say “how embarrassment” LOL
Bye: Warriors

ROUND 22

ROUND 21 results…
THURSDAY JULY 20
Dragons 18 vs 14 Wests Tigers
the battle of 17th v 16th… 16th got there…
FRIDAY JULY 21
Warriors 21 vs 20 Raiders
Well fancy that… leading at half time the Warriors looked certs to continue, then a late 2nd half rally by the Raiders, put some interest back in the game… at 20 – 20 golden point, Shaun Johnson sent the Raiders back to Canberra broken heartedRabbitohs 20 vs 36 Broncos
the bunnies had a number of players back in their team for this match, and so did the Broncos… even with the Broncos dealing with 2 lots of 10 minutes sin binning, the Bunnies were not able to make hay, even with the flood lights shining brightlySATURDAY JULY 22
Titans 18 vs 36 Roosters
the confident fans strode into Cbus Stadium… and wandered out of Cbus with an ever familiar feeling…Knights 26 vs 18 Storm
Yeah, well! the Knights really are not that good, so my conclusion is… the Storm must have been just bad enough for the lose…
Cowboys 24 vs 16 Eels
that’s 6 in a row for the CowboysSUNDAY JULY 23
Panthers 44 vs 18 Bulldogs
The only thing to take out of this game…. the Doggies put 18 points on the reigning premiers
Sharks 26 vs 30 Sea Eagles
The out of sync Sharkies left it far too late to get some sync…. in saying that they found a Manly side in form on the day… IMO, their dropping down the ladder coming up against in form opposition, is only starting to show their true order in the competition…
Bye: Dolphins

ROUND 20 results…
FRIDAY JULY 14
Knights 34 vs 18 Tigers
The Tigers were kind of kept in this game, helped by Ponga’s missed conversion kicks… but what will the game be remembered for…. a serial ***** slapper getting 10 in the bin….SATURDAY JULY 15
Bulldogs 24 vs 44 Broncos
The Doggies turned up to play but were outclassed, and overwhelmed by a Reynold’s master class and a points hungry Broncos outfitSea Eagles 8 vs 19 Cowboys
An at times spluttering Cowboys side ensured their 2 points for the win, by their committed defensive efforts.Roosters 16 vs 30 Storm
The 2023 misfiring Chooks, keep on misfiring… The Storm have now won 7 of the last 8 games, that these sides have playedSUNDAY JULY 16
Warriors 44 vs 12 Sharks
The Sharkies look good playing outside the Top Eight sides…..Dolphins 14 vs 24 Panthers
The Dolphins need to play the 2nd half of their games first, that way they would be warmed up for the first 40 minutes LOLEels 25 vs 24 Titans
fancy that… the final score may not have looked that close, if the Eels did not have 2 payers in the bin at the same time.Bye: Dragons, Rabbitohs, Raiders

NRL 2023 FINALS - WEEK 1 results…
Friday September 8
Second qualifying final:
Broncos 26 vs 0 Storm
The Storm came, the rain came, but it was the Broncos providing 80 minutes of microbursts..
The Storm not only suffered on the score board, the injuries from this game look fairly brutal for their week 2 clash… Pap’s season is over, Coates limped off with an ankle injury that looked severe, and 2 HIA rulings may have Seve and Loiero out for the mandatory 10/11 day period
Saturday September 9
First qualifying final:
Panthers 32 vs 6 Warriors
This game was always destined to be an uphill battle for the Warriors…without Johnson, the final score told how steep the incline was..
Second elimination final:
Sharks 12 vs 13 Roosters
Fancy that, the Sharks were into week 2… until the Chooks did a Lazarus in the dying stages of the game, and made the Sharkies the first of the week 1, elimination fodder….
Roosters sneaked in to be week 2 fodder….
Sunday September 10
First elimination final:
Knights 30 vs 28 Raiders
well, that turned out to be one hard fought out game… Raiders have their Mad Monday, tomorrow…
Knights move up to the fodder bin, for finals week 2
