Wow that was a good game to start the round off. I cant believe that Brisbane was so dominant. The final scoreline of Brisbane 120 to Melbourne -24 was really indicative of the match...

I've heard guys use chuck steak from the butcher cos of the tough fatty grisel on it as well.

I use a heavy hand line with a hook at about 3/0 ish and a ball sinker. Subtle rigs are not required. Best baits for me are meat that is tough to get off the hook. Chicken hearts are a cracker if you can get them but I have done very well on venison. I don't like soft baits as I find they can mouth the bait and get it off without you knowing.
As for baits I cut them up and bag them individually before freezing them. Bigger is better 🙂

If you're ever on the Gold Coast, Arundel bait and tackle sell them frozen. At least then you don't have to deal with the horrible spawns of Satan on the end of your line.

I'd be using 8 to 10 pound line. Sinker on top of hook. About a 1/0 longshank hook.

Mate just go to any freshwater creek with some servo prawns or some whitebait and you will catch and eel. They are everywhere. Only problem is once you catch one you need to retie your knot and cut all the slimy line off.

Personally I would be looking for  a 4.2 - 4.7 meter tinny (not punt or v nose punt) if you want to head to Moreton or out in the bay. Also wide gunnels. A Yamaha or Honda donk 50hp (40hp at a bare minimum. Don't even contemplate a 30hp). 
So this one below would be ticking a lot of boxes. Those 2 banger Yammy's are bulletproof. Looks in good nick.
