Thought I thought I saw you and the boys feeding your faces at one of cafes near the cinema but couldn’t stop to say g’day.

Ah yes the sushi place. Oh and I believe you mean 'sampling the succulent cuisine with distinguished elegance' ...... 🤔🙃😆.

Same for me with Qld and Origin games. Only been there for one win. So, I sacrifice myself and stay home. Working out just nicely for umpteen years now. haha

I'm 0/2 in Sydney so will have to go back for 3rd time lucky sometime. A fella with the surname Johns has since retired so our chances are a bit higher these days ..... 😀.

Apart from 2 years living in London in 2006 & 2007 and then two years at some point through our 8 years in a row reign where we couldn't get tickets, I've gone to every other game in Brisbane since 1997. Plenty of good memories (and wins) 😎.

Nah, probably because I was there. Broncos haven’t won a game when I have been there for years. I think I will stay at home for the rest of this season.

The boys and I went too Steve - VERY disappointing 2nd half!!!

Two good looking Origin sides. It'll be a close contest.

Yep - as always, whoever wins the forwards battle has their nose in front. I think Madge has picked some sort/style of players that NSW haven’t a lot over the years (eg. McInnes). I’ll back is though - will be interesting to see Cobbo come on as a forward - would love to see him fired up and hitting hard in defence 🤞.

Tonight we get the first of the women's, 3 x SOO Games
good luck to all for the magic round, but bear in mind, magic is fickle, and for some it could be poo round...

Oh come on @Gad, that's really unfair ...... at least let the poor bugger enjoy Friday and Saturday's games before waking up and dreading another loss, this time to the Dolphins ....... 🤭😆😂. Besides, they're having a good season so far, there's TWO teams below them ...... 😜.

On a more serious note, two cracking games (I listened to Dogs v Raiders) to start Magic Round. Go Broncos!!

When you said the island is closed for pest eradication I immediately thought they might be getting rid of grinners, in which case they could have waited for you to take care of that for them. 😂 I can’t talk, though. All my recent fishing trips have been dominated by grinners and sharks! Enjoy the planning!

Cheeky bugger!! Yes sounds like there’s plenty of both in the bay ATM. Yes planning on taking the boys. Going to have to buy some spear fishing gear 😎.

Looks amazing.  A great adventure.  How do they get your boat on and off the ferry or do they just tow it under a bridle?

Be an awesome 4 or 5 days I bet - but how the heck do you camp with eskies and ice these days 🙃 - I am so stuck on 12v and a fridge its not funny.

Haven't worked any details out yet - first job is for one of us to call the ferry company and get an idea of cost and ferry timetable so we can work out how long we should stay. I'd guess 7-10 days to make it worthwhile, both from a cost (I don't think the ferry will be 'cheap') and effort perspective. That will also determine our plan as far as keeping things cold/frozen - I think it will be a combination of eskies, probably with dry ice (none of us have used it before) and 12v fridges, batteries and solar.

They load the boats and trailers onto the ferry using a forklift - looks like they can fit about 5 boats from the videos I've seen, possibly more. Then when you arrive they lower the ramp, secure the towball of the trailer to some sort of hook point and you launch your boat from the ramp (ie. off the trailer). The've got large storage 'boxes' (from the videos, I'd guess maybe 2m high, 2-3m long and 1m deep, something like that) that you can load other gear into for travel on the ferry, plus you can have some stuff in your boat. On top of that they have drums of fuel and water and I think can provide ice - there seems to be large 'fridge trolleys' that you can use on the island to pull them up above the shoreline.

Lots of logistics to work out - I think once we do one we'll do it a few times. One of my brothers noticed the island is closed this June for a while (til Sep from memory) for pest eradication - seems there's alot of mice on the island so hopefully they get rid of plenty ..... 🤪.

Have a great trip mate, would love to get there one day. I was meant to go there on a school biology trip/camp in 1995 but we missed out after some high school students from Brisbane killed a heap of mutton birds earlier that year so I feel I have unfinished business there ........ 😞

Aaaannnndddd my brothers and I have decided to look into going next June/July or Sept/Oct holidays 🙂. 30 years later I'm hopefully going to get there 🙂.
