  1. I'll be there, but possibly not from the start Don't forget to run the duster over them for me ........
  2. Great stuff, looks like the BBQ is sorted then, cheers @benno573. I have a gas bottle I can bring. @ellicat I'll work out if I'll be there from the start and if not I'll tee up to drop off some stuff to you (fold up table, gas bottle and esky). The esky is 93L and about one metre long so we can either use that or get 2-3 people to bring more 'regular' sized ones.
  3. Of course, not sure why I didn't think of that (probably because I don't change hands when fishing .... ). Chuck one combo in if you don't mind mate, just in case I'm a little delayed getting there. I'll bring one as well though - cheers.
  4. Hot off the press - we will be having a casting competition on the day (so get practicing .... ). Is there a left-handed member that would be willing to bring a rod and reel to be used (just a cheap one)? I'll bring a right handed one, probably a 2500 size 2-4kg. I'll bring some markers to section off an area so that (hopefully) we don't hit any nearby children (although we obviously can't clear the whole park when it is @ellicats turn .......... ). Depending on how many kids are there we may be able to have a kids one also.
  5. BTW guys and gals we're still on the lookout for a BBQ - spoke to Danielle tonight and the MP's ones are proving tricky to secure. Anyone got one they could bring?
  6. Cheers Sam - thought he might be able to help with advice on a blank, etc but seems he's focusing on catching .....
  7. Mate send a PM (Personal Message - he is on page 6 of this thread, click on his username and you'll be able to message him) to @tunafreak who builds his own and should be happy to help you. I'm not sure how often he checks this site but when you send him a PM it should pop up in his email. Good luck - let us know how you get on.
  8. Actually speaking of the BBQs there, they are electric ones and I was reminded by my wife that they may not be that hot - we usually pre-cook our sausages and then just re-heat/finish them there. So someone bringing a BBQ (unless the BBQ trailer Danielle mentioned has one) would be great.
  9. Oh and with what appears to be a few of the 'fairer sex' (mostly partners/wives) coming us of the fishing (tackle) obsessed nature better make a secret pact NOT TO MENTION HOW MUCH WE SPEND ON FISHING GEAR ..........
  10. My son Liam now has a kindy friends birthday party to go to at Wynnum til 12:30 so I'll need to work out logistics - if need be I may need to see if someone - @ellicat perhaps? - could take my esky and possibly table for me. Will work it out closer to the time.
  11. I'll take another look when we are down there in two weekends time but we haven't had a problem getting access to the BBQ's (will double check how many there are) and I'm pretty sure they work pretty well. I'll double check though and report back - in the meantime someone speak up if you can bring one if needed.
  12. Good work on the potential lucky door prize - bonus!! I'm Ok to bring an esky - I'll PM you my phone number and just buzz me before the day so I know how many/how big (I recently acquired a fairly big one but it may be too big - have other options though). The park gets pretty busy with kids birthday parties (we're having our son's there in a couple of weekends time) so I would suggest we bring at least a couple of tables between us plus everyone bring a chair. I've got one fold up table I can bring. Anyone else? Oh and I've got a severe allergic reaction to small plates of food .........
  13. Surely that fish has been photoshopped .........
  14. Does that 'capture' mean it wasn't a donut trip @Old Scaley ............?
  15. Darn it, you beat me to it .........
  16. Hmmmm .... I thought I'd worked something out for a moment. I drink beer, I catch bu99er all ....... Wayne doesn't drink beer, he bores me with all the fish he catches ........ But then my mind turned to @tugger so I'm still none the wiser!!!
  17. I'll be there @Danielle Will PM you my email address. Just me at this stage but I'll work out closer to the time if the rest of the clan can make it - probably would be for a short while if so. Good stuff Wayne - making the date decision a VERY good one now Perhaps you could bring my fishing gear ......... and let me know your favourite beer so I can get you a 6 pack to say thanks/sorry for being such a slacker!!
  18. I just realised the one at JCM is an Ally Craft Tank and not a Stessl Trophy Terry. Saw this on BoatSales - they're a very nice looking boat mate and with a package like this you get good bang for your buck http://www.boatsales.com.au/boats-for-sale/dealer/new/OAG-AD-13355492/2016-STESSL-530M-TROPHY-CENTRE-CONSOLE?cr=19&psq=(((((State%3DQueensland%26(((SiloType%3D[Demo and near new boats]|SiloType%3D[Dealer new boats])|SiloType%3D[Dealer used boats])|SiloType%3D[Private used boats]))%26Price%3Drange[15000..50000])%26LengthInFeet%3Drange[16..19])%26BoatAll%3Dkeyword[centre console])%26Service%3DBoatsales)&pso=15&pss=Premium
  19. I haven't narrowed it down too much yet Terry - I'll just basically be chasing the best deal I can get for my buck. I'll be pretty patient once I am in a position to buy in the hopes of picking up a quality hull. If you are potentially keeping an eye out for a good 2nd hand deal, take a look online as often as time permits as some REALLY good deals pop up. Good luck!
  20. Are you considering 2nd hand Terry or just new? If you go 2nd hand with a newish motor you'll increase your chances of getting a quality plate hull (not that I know anything about the quality of the Stessl Trophy's). There is/was a Trophy 530 at John Crawford Marine - I know the owner Matt and he is a top bloke and would be worth talking to to discuss options. Good luck with your search - I'll be after something similar (but a slightly lower budget) in a couple of years once my boys are a bit older.
  21. Great fishing tale right there, with the proof to go with it!!
  22. Yep ditto for the Siennas. I have had two for a few years now and still going strong (the 4000 slightly less so after it was flipped out of the boat at the ramp a year or two ago but still working). For about $80 with a rod when on special at BCF, you can't go wrong.
  23. Good on you Angus, I'll happily sign the petition.
  24. This appears on the original/first post instead of Mark's tips he had put up.
  25. Interesting Sam - doesn't appear to have been edited. Perhaps there was a problem when the change to the new website occurred? Just an idea.
