Hweebe got a reaction from Bretto77 in Since Getting the new rig
Getting some serious boat envy with @Cobiaaddict and @GregOug upgrading their boats. Some seriously nice rigs. Might need to start a new post to gather ideas from AFO members on how to fund my next boat....
Anyone know anything about crypto 😀, NFTs, ETFs, Shares, Debt recycling, Investing or just general financial planning for a new boat? I wonder if a boat is allowable as a lump sump payment from super?

Would love to try and setup radar to pickup birds and some topwater action! Have read this can be just as good as scanning underwater 🙂

Love the new Boat! @GregOug you are living the dream and definitely have your priorities right. You must have been an accountant in a past life to name your boat liquid asset 🙂

Hweebe got a reaction from GregOug in favorite berley for snapper?
Left over bait from last outing into a grinder and tuna oil, frozen in a 2L milk bottle ready as berley for next sesh.

Wow price of electronics is really getting up (especially if you go Garmin).
The HDS 16 Live would look awesome on the dash 🙂. I'm happy with my dual screen setup with a HDS 12 Live (for targeting fish) and @GregOug hand me down HDS live for navigation.
On the HDS 12 - 4 way split was just a bit too small (Chart, Down, Structure, Side) but on a HDS 16 i reckon this would definitely work.

The 16 fill the dash very nicely @Hweebe and using all 4 options works ok, normally run Sonar & chart only.

Hweebe got a reaction from ellicat in Muzza
@Muzza P its a long shot but deep in the network settings > "data sources" menus you can configure what devices / transducers provide SOG, Depth, Temp, heading etc.
Maybe check here that you have configured depth on the installed transducer and not something else.

Hi Josh,
I calculate that you got your new boat sometime in October and I got mine in February, four months later.
So, taking that into consideration, does that mean I’ll catch a 10kg+ tuskie by June?
Also, on a serious note, what sounder/gps did you go with?
cheers
Greg

We head out today with Declan to make the most of the fortnight he is up. The forecast was somewhat confounded for Wednesday. I got up at 3.30am and checked the live readings and the Bom Radar and nearly called it. I stayed true and we head out. It was a little lumpy going out, but that was the worst of it and it was a beautiful day and a lot better then the forecasts. We fished in a lot of depths and the bite was difficult, the almanac did say it was going to be a poor day. When we did manage to hook up, the Taxman 🦈 took his cut very quickly which gave us a lot of frustration.
Anyway Declan caught his PB Red Bass and pulled out of 135m, manually. He was puffing a bit when he got it up. It is a pitty that we can not eat these fish on the East Coast.
