Check google earth and look for canals and waterways on the western side of the Gold Coast hwy. That the main road that runs right through the guts of surfers down to Miami.
Look for roads going over those canals. They're all bridges.
They're all worth a flick.

Yep. Stretched them about twice a day as they were drying.
I was pretty crook at the time so it was a basic 5 Min job. My brain just wasn't interested though.
Considering the illness and lack of motivation, I'm still pretty happy how they turned out.
Still a touch damp.
Another week on the rack and they'll be sweet.
A light sand at the end to get all those little dags and rough bits off as well.
Grass seed is still bedded deep in one of the skins so they'll be staying put. I'm not gonna dig them out. To many.
Why can't we call them Ugg boots anymore?

How are them skins going Junky.
Must be looking good bout now.
Hey Angry.
They look great.
Managed to get them on the drying rack on wed, however I have the flu so haven't spent much time on them at all. Just washed them and hung them basically.
Been stretching the skin but I have been sick as a dog for the week so motivation is just not there. They'll be okay.
I'm just trying to recover asap. Knocked me this one.
Will get out in the morning for a look. Have to trim them, then sand them back a little and egg yoke them. Will get that done tomorrow.
I'll get some pics up.

GME VHF mounted in my tub.
My 1m aerial is mounted on rooftop on a quick lock swivel, so it would equate to a 2m high aerial on a gunwale.
You can edit scan preferences so it doesn't scan all channels.
I scan channels 16, 67, 73, 72 down here, and I also have 80, 81, 82 added in for further north.
Be sure to log on.
VMR Jacobs well is open 24/7, I'm sure some on the northaide are as well.
Pays to be a vmr member too. $70 odd from memory. My minister pays mine so ill ask.
Can log on by phone as well.

Holly crap. That would tear the trailer out from underneath the boat.
I have A GCG intercooler job lined up for it. Misso is good friends with them.
It's been something I wanted to do for a while, however I will only put about 10 to 12psi through it. Just so it holds up hills etc. Don't need to go fast.
I love my 80 series.
Wouldn't trade it for anything. We've done some big trips and she just keeps on keeping on. If it had a tail it would wag like a happy dog on road trips. It doesn't get out much atm due to this other project that has been going on but soon enough we will be "on the road again".

I already have one, it seems.
I had cause to lift the bonnet to do some cleaning after some water crossings and noticed it for the first time. lol
This reminds me of that paravane thread...
Well that's good news Brian.
Like Ed said...open it up and replace the filter.
The units the misso fits can be washed and reused but those paper ones need replacing.
Also clean the entire housing out as well. Just use a rag and wipe all the gunk out, and be amazed at what actually gets saved from being pumped back through your motor. It's disgusting.
I don't know how manufacturers get away with it tbh.

The regen is part of the DPF Diesel Particulate Filter.
The catch can has nothing to do with exhaust, and everything to do with intake.
These new diesels pump crap back through the intake, and of course, gums up the motor leading to failure at some stage.
When fitting a catch can, you also have an intake clean done at the same time. Not just a bit of carbie cleaner down the throttle body, the full 3 stage clean.
Trust me boys and girls, these new motors are to fancy and with fancy stuff comes fragility.
I'm not experienced enough to go into detail, all I know is how to power a flux capacitor, and I can also install compression powder to the molecular diodes.
If you want a good idea of what is happening to your engine, call Auto Service Plus at Capalaba. 3390 3233.
Ask for Rex, or speak to my wife Ky. They will give you the details you need, or call in and see them. They don't bite.
Or, speak to your trusted grease monkey. If they say you don't need one, find a better grease monkey.
I've got a far superior 1HZ, so I have no problems with all that rubbish, but the newer diesels need to be cared for.
Cheers Damo.

Some of the channels i do follow>
Gido's Fishing Adventures
The Full Scale - Fishing Adventures
robbiefishing
Northern Scavenger
Luke Falzon for comedy relief
Silvester's Freshwater Fishing
Adept Ape
Peter Herbst Fishing
Bowly's Fishing
EngelsCoachShop
Taryl Fixes All
Luke falzon is a dead set crack up. Bit of rexhunt in him kissing the fish, but nowhere near as annoying.
He worries me though.
Driving around Sandy tracks with not one piece of recovery equipment. He needs to get that patrol sorted.
I was screaming at the TV last Ep. LOW RANGE, LOW RANGE.

I’m with you - I think Greg’s content is by the far the most informative. I think he would be a good one to get out in a boat with and pick up some skills.
I noticed even on the recent Swains Wilson trip he was putting the boat onto the fish in deeper water.
Yeah he's been boating and fishing since we were little kids. Born into it. Terry always had him up DI. They know it like the back of their hand. Those boys can catch fish in puddles haha.
I can remember him in class, way back as far as grade 3, drawing pictures of boats, and believe it or not, drag cars.
I still see him now and then but haven't managed a trip out with him. Still stop and have a chat though. Top bloke.
His older brothers held the Aussie record for the fastest naturally aspirated car down the quarter mile for a long time.
They had a HQ premier with a 383 chev. Greg also had a mental candy apple red LC Torana with a 383, but I think he was breaking lots of stuff, which becomes extremely expensive.
Last time I spoke with Greg they had started an SS torana project. No doubt they are killing it.
Interesting family.
He's always been a sensible person, unlike me.

Ignore,,,, that's the best/only way to treat any of these idiots.
I agree, for their YouTube channel.
However there comes a point when they effect someone else, be it on the water, or on the road. That's what I get cranky with.
I'm all for having a good time, but to be a total clown is just asking for trouble.
I prefer the fisherman.
Wild reaches.
Sammy Hitzky.
Greg Lamprecht. (went all through school with Greg)
Even old Andy's fishing.

Must appeal to a different generation or?????
Different planet perhaps.
My son is 22yrs old and thinks they're morons.
I cannot believe Mick Fanning was on board with them tbh.
Been out fishing with people like that and it was a horrible day.
The main rule on my boat is no drinking alcohol. Do that when you get home if you must, but people that drink, especially skippers, are risking everyone.
Then they get back to the ramp and drive home in the car, with a trailer.
I hope the cops get them for drink driving.

Never followed them.
They call getting blind drunk and fishing, fun.
Each to their own.
They've made a tonne of money from it all though.

Fit a catch can.
Will not void warranty.
Missus fits process West Terra tuff catch cans.
Self servicing filter.
Yes they're more expensive but the filter is easily cleaned with degreaser, then water. Blow it out, let it dry, refit. Good to go.
They're a flash looking alloy unit too. Fits hundreds of them, never had a problem.
All of my work colleagues have fitted them to their new diesels.
She'll look after yas too.
If you want I'll pm you details. If you don't trust girls, her dad is there and he taught her everything.

I hope you're stirring that skin Junky, we don't want you going to sleep on the job. haha
Yep, plenty of stirring going on.
Just got back in from a stir actually.
My hands feel so soft from the other day handling the skins.
Amazing stuff that lanolin.

Another thing I learnt today was that the grass seeds work their way into sheep's skin, and I mean to the underside.
I'll get a pic when I pull these skins out. Little black seeds pretty much ready to reach the flesh. Was very close with this one lamb. Other skin is clean as a whistle.
As I was gernieing the fat and sinew off I noticed these black things that looked like farmers friends embedded into the skin.
Turns out they're grass seeds and can be fatal to sheep.
Luckily the sheep that owned the skin was okay but the butchers said that we just got to him in time before the seeds worked their way into the flesh and started to grow.
Once that happens the sheep is toast, well the flesh is anyway.
Interesting.

Damo, you realise you can stir more than twice daily.
I used to do it many times, whenever I was near it, doesn't hurt it, just covers it better.
Thanks angry.
I'll give it a stir now.
It's actually really exciting times for me atm.
I'm slowly getting back into hunting and I am currently in the process of getting my firearms license updated and reregistered. Have to do the safety course again though as my brief expired yrs ago, and no, I don't have any firearms atm.
That thread of bobs with that deer kicked off my enthusiasm again.
We used to do a lot back in the 90s and if I can get this tanning sorted I'll get some deer hide and I'll have some nice ground covers in my fishing shack.
Would love a few trophy heads as well.
