Did you notice that Police boat had no
    fishing rods on it.
Wonder what they do when they don't have anyone to pull over?😆

Was on the front page of the local rag, with the boys in blue making sure i had all the safety gear on board. Whilst talking to them i even had a fish online a small red snapper

Well done on your fame !
I always like it when the cops are on the water doing their thing. I even got drug tested last year. They wanted to booze test me as well but their battery went flat. haha

I purchased a Seatrail boat trailer for my 5mtr fiberglass boat (supposedly Chinese) but assembled locally. towed it from Wollongong to Port Hedland and back 5.5K each way, had no issues at all with trailer or towing. A lot of country roads in WA through the wheat belt

Yesterday woke up looked out the window and the sun was shinning so told the misses i am take the boat out (no objections). Called a mate to meet me at the ramp.  Got to the ramp and alot of people had the same idea as the carparks were almost full (port kembla ramp).  Hit the water and headed out found the ocean the flattest i when i have been out on it, was able to go full throttle out to flinders island. when i got there i could count 10 boat, so i pulled up and joined the throng and drifted around. With such a beautiful day the fish didn't come to the party with just enough to keep us interested. After a while we moved position and landed the first keeper a red rocky then we moved again to the island off hill 60 ( with the seal colony) bites were slow but another keeper a rubber lips with a few throw back mixed in. then moved back to the northern break wall off the harbor caught a few flatties all under sized then i thought i snagged the bottom but then it started coming up it felt like a clump of weed or something when i got it to the surface i noticed it was upside down which i thought it was the reason of it being lethargic but then it woke up and gave a fight eventually landing it. Then it was time to head home as we had enough exercise for the day

    Hey everyone
Fairly new to boating - and novice at fishing, really impressed with the forum having lurked around for a bit, wanted to sign up hoping to reach out via the forums here in the hopes of finding some help / inspiration / guidance / company etc with regards to our family boat trips.
I used to hire tinnies a fair bit from Bribie marina for a number of years including the60hp plastic boat, until a few years ago where after 30+? years of procrastination, I went out and bought a “bargain” Sportsman Craft boat which was fun. After the rather steep learning curve that offered,  sold it to buy a Fraser Formula 626 as it was bit bigger, only to discover that learning curve kept goin'.
Usually hang around in Bribie Passage or near that bridge, not too far from the chip shop at the VMR . With the Fraser its easy going most conditions over to Morton even with a bit of chop. Prefer mid-week outings when there is no one around just maybe a mates boat.
Have been thinking  of heading north to places like west side of Fraser and around  Hinchinbrook Island, and that inland bass fishing lake up there somewhere. Recently have had to put it up on tyres to get the trailer out as it looks a bit cactus, has some issues need sorting prior to doing any long road trips. and other adventures that am hoping we will have in it. Am sure will be great,  just need to sort a few things like the trailer and finding places to go that are away from the population areas. Thought it might be more fun hooking up with a few others doing the same.
Over the year’s friends have moved on or stopped going or lost touch - and shift work don't help either,  with recent global events just adding to it all.
Anyway that’s pretty much it, am hoping I can ask some not so clever questions and get this thing sorted. Looking forward to picking up a few ideas, learning a few things that may possibly impress the wife, and maybe make some new friends, possibly heading away on an adventure or two with the family without any major dramas (which probably would impress the wife)
    Cheers
