After taking the sup out specifically for fishing at redcliffe this morning,  I am  so Glad to report back you definitely can use sup for fishing.
I was in the water for 2 hours with breezy wind. The sup got pushed and moved by wave, but not too much. It is pretty stable as i was sitting on it instead of standing. I have no problems doing things what i usually do in a kayak. But indeed you can't carry as many gears as in kayak.
It is a very relaxed session as i can lie down or stand up if i felt tired or bored. I also used kayak paddle and it feels much like a kayak.
The best thing is it is so easy to transport and i am very happy now.

This morning was very quiet at scott point, don't know why. But i was using dead bait which was not touched. I was fishing from 5am till 7am on  water and didn't feel much bite.
I will post a photo next time i get out.

I wipe down the rods and reels, I oil the reel and put covers on them before putting them away.
I refurbish all my tackle at the same time.

I pull apart all the reels I use and clean the parts individually, wiping them with a damp, soft rag with only water, to get sand and grime out of the mechanism.
I wipe down my rods with the same sort of process as the reels to remove any residual dirt or salt spray.
For baitcasters, I sometimes find that the little hole on top of the spool where your line comes out of sometimes gets clogged with some mud or dirt.
I use a cue tip or a scrunched up paper towel to remove this.
For my tackle i like to wash the trebles of crankbaits and hardbodies so that they dont rust over time and spread it into the other lures where I store them.
Soft plastics get put back into their packs and my jigheads don't rust so I just either keep them in the soft plastic or keep them neatly alligned in a samaki foam case - these are really great and an efficient to store your lures, jigheads, or vibes. They are expensive for their size and what they really are but the quality is great and they're a cool little product: https://www.bcf.com.au/p/samaki-slit-foam-tackle-case-large/609694.html
    Hope this helps.

    Fellow surfer/wake boarder hear.
Got the misso one of those blow up sups from king's.
Sups are nothing like surfing, unless you're surfing the sup in waves, and even that is an effort and a half compared to even a mal.

Your feet are side by side. That to me just doesn't gel. I am not a skier so side by side is hard for me.
You can stand in the surfing stance, but you can't paddle.

Try riding a skateboard with your feet side by side.

Like what the others were saying, its gonna be very tough getting out with all your gear. Your running a very good risk of coming off and soaking/losing stuff. I reckon a kayak would be the best way to go for sure. Paddleboards are unstable at the best of times and unless your planning on getting a huge one with a heap of literage (which is gonna end up being not that much lighter than a yak)....its gonna be tough aha.
    All the best but.

Sounds very honest advice. I haven't been on a sup before so I don't really know how easy or hard to steer one. I hope I can stay on a sup without problems.

Take some soft plastic crabs for the bones and permit that call Yellowpatch home.
No recent reports, but it does follow consistent patterns on the northern end of the island.
I suspect the soft crabs would tempt a good bluey around the Cape if you get a chance.
Don't forget to pack a squid jig.

Never too early or too late for a jack session....they are primarily night time feeders.
30 years ago the two go to colours for jacks was red or green, the past decade has been white for me and next to no result with the old favorites.

I wonder why the colours that use to work best get no results now ? Do you have a theory?
The early morning sunrises on the water are just a magic time of the day.

    Thanks mate,
The jack addiction is real, lol. They are such a powerful fish for their size. That first hit when they smash your lure is so fast and aggressive.

    Hi all, been a while.
me and a mate decided to head out fishing on Sunday and try and get some prawns. He called out last second and I already had the boat ready, so headed into the bay on my tinny. Saw some bluefin jumping right next to the boat but couldn’t get any, hooked up on tuna 3 times but lost them each time.  Made it to Moreton and got to test the limits of my tinny

    Hi again all,
With kids footy season and life in general about to disrupt my fishing ambitions, I threw my gear in the car, abandoned the family and work and arrived at Inskip to walk on to the 1st barge of the day for Friday. Arriving at the magical Fraser island to passing showers and bit of wind here and there I dragged my gear on foot a few clicks up the south western side to campgrounds, set up camp, then got into the fishing. Set out live herring and threw some halco slugs around I was soon onto the fish! Plenty of action over 2 days, numerous small pelagics and surprisingly a tally of 5 estuary cod near 50cm mark was amongst the highlights of the trip. Only really fishing the tide changes I had a few hours downtime so did some hikes inland in between for fun. Over 3 days my Garmin told me I clocked nearly 55km with only dingoes, dolphins and turtles to keep me company. No tuna (again) but gives me a reason to go back!

The biggest clue to fishing is understanding why a fish would be feeding at this spot and when.
Pay attention to water movement and what that water is bringing to the fish.
A fish will not park up in a spot if the water is not bringing to food to it.
Fish are essentially lazy, they will find a comfortable spot to sit and wait for the food to come to them.
Whilst there are exceptions, you will find if you look closely enough, they will hang around the reef or log because that is where the majority of the food will be found.
In saying that though, structure is not always neccesary for a fish....they will happily sit at convergences of current well away from any structure.
Be patient enough to learn your local waters without falling to "the grass is always greener" syndrome....so many good spots are overlooked by most people in favor of something more exotic or "better" than where you are.
Same goes for fishing gear.....w a n k factor does not catch you any more fish than std workhorse gear.
