Yeah fishing after the rain has been kinda slow, I was pleased with that snap on a vibe but bait fishing has sucked haha.

Thorbjorn Hale got a reaction from AUS-BNE-FISHO in tying leader to split rings and changing hard bodies.
I use a swivel tied to my leader then attach the lure using a split ring attached to the lure. Really secure and it gets rid of line twist and imparts a better action for metals.

If you have some free time I highly recommend going for a swim at Mossman  gorge. I went there a few years ago and it was amazing. Good luck on the fishing

As an English and Australian crossbreed😄, I moved from the uk a few years ago. I recommend what everyone else said and just wait, from what I remember the fishing tackle and brands is very different from the kind of gear you get in Australia. Most of the stuff in the uk is for uk fishing and vice versa. To get a taste for the bread and butter species a 3 inch soft plastic and roughly 1/8 jigheads will work well👍.

Sounds like crisis averted Ed! I'd have sold the Jeep after the first trip (actually i would never have bought a Jeep in the first place!).
If you get to the Daintree go check out the Daintree Ice Cream Company in Diwan. The ice cream is handmade on site and the girls in the shop are friendly. Its cool to walk around the exotic fruit trees and if Daintree Dave is there ask if he can show you his cocoa and vanilla plants.
Disclaimer: Daintree Dave may/may not be my brother in law (fishing tragic too)
    Andrew

Depends on where you are fishing, at the port will be different to in a narrow creek. Big soft plastics and vibes work well for the port but you might wanna use a shallow diver or a weedless plastic if you are deep in the mangroves, all depends on where I guess.
