    etec outboard

hi all can any one show me a pic of where the heat sensor is on a 130 evinrude etec cheers snap
  6. Give the Saltiga 12 a go. I love the stuff. Super thin, super strong, great casting line. PE6 is equivalent to 100lb. Can fit 300m on a saltiga 14000. Another one I recommend is Gosen. Awesome stuff as well. Seems to last if not used much, which has been the case for me lately.
  7. Thanks Huxstang, As mentioned before, for this particular rod I do want to purchase Daiwa Expedition so I can try it out. Im not a Shimano fan so perhaps the YGK can be a good option for future purchases. Cheers, Peter.
  8. Just went to a maritime Museum just south of Vancouver. It is in an old cannery. They had 25 canneries in this one area (Steveston) and this one cannery would get so many Salmon in a day (this was in the late 1800’s) so using row boats with 2 people and siene net, that the cannery would often throw thousands of dead fish back as unable to be canned in a day. The older timers said that there were that many fish you could walk across the river ontop of the fish. Only a 2 month operation but canned some ridiculous number like over 1million cans in that time frame. The whole industry collapsed due to a partial blockage of the river caused a mass loss of spawning in one year. I guess my point is that even back then the view of this unlimited resource was being learnt as not being the case.
  9. PE 1.5 Varivas in white is almost impossible to see for my aging eyes in the wrong light conditions. Sunline Castway is easier to see but it seems thick for PE but it casts nice enough. Shimano Grappler is also OK, Nomad is ok but thick and course, Shimano Ocea is nice but $$$$, YGK Pentagram Upgrade is hard to go past in the mid price range braids - never had a problem with it. Meets all Manga’s points IMHO.
  10. Thanks Ellicat and others, much appreciated for all your help.
  11. Yeah he was stoked, heard him from 1km away, then redlined his 2 stroke all the way back to show off (both times he caught a fish) and put them on ice. all in all perfect weekend, the forecast for Sunday was up to 15mm and we maybe got 2mm.. Back to reality..
  12. It was a tough day at the office, @Neil Stratford. I went out with @Leosonfire this afternoon for a dusk session. Sharks were a menace again, with Leo losing a good snap to a shark that took the body and then came back for the head. I managed this grassie as the only legal fish boated.
  13. Thanks for letting us know. Hard to beat a camping and fishing/crabbing trip with the family. I'm taking it that your mate was somewhat surprised to get a 53cm snap ! As for an over 40 whiting - well, that's just showing off. haha Lucky dog.
  14. Good report @MrWobbygong. Some nice catches there.
  15. Well, it casts very well, so for your target species I reckon 10lb would cover you - a bit more confidence if you need to put some pressure on a fish. Having said that, an 8lb version would cast a mile with a lighter jighead or lure.
  16. Got away with the girls for the mothers day weekend. Left Donnybrook boat ramp around 130pm on Saturday, boat packed to the gunnell , cruised over, set up camp.. Left the girls on the beach and dropped the pots in with some chicken frames, just on the edges of holes towards lime pocket. Pumped some yabbies to fish from mission pt campground. Got a few on the first soak, came back to camp to continue feeding the bream and Moses perch. Second soak Got a couple more, had a flick and got a nice whiting and tested the trolling motor (it didn't fall off) A mate that camped next to us caught a 53cm snapper and a 43cm whiting on yabbies while I was enjoying time with the fam. Some cracking fish for the passage. The rest of the weekend was filled with camp oven lamb shoulder, toasted marshmallows and more crabs. Ended up with more than enough for myself, my mate, my mum and even the dog had a taste. Good trip. Keen to really give the trolling motor a workout soon.
  17. hi all what is that white board they make bait boards out of and where to buy gold coast cheers snap
  18. Went for a quick fish this morning . Struggled to find anything of substance . Brought home 6 grassies , a nice tuskfish and a huge sole ,so won’t go hungry. photographed these for the Southside. Mauri Cods 335mm , 445mm and 350mm all released Grassy Sweetlip 340mm ,350mm and 435mm Spanish Mackerel 615mm , 620mm both released
  19. Thanks Ellicat, some great info. So would you recommend getting a higher pound strength such as 12-15lb line due to its thinness, or stick with 8lb even though it is a bit thinner than other 8lb lines? Cheers, Peter
  20. I have 15lb Expedition. I've landed a 73cm flattie on it and also 50's cm snapper. Line held up well. It is limp and memory free. It is thin. I'd equate the 15lb to a regular 8lb. I don't have the box anymore, so cannot answer '6'.
  21. Thanks @mzaakir, Looks like a cool braid, very thin for its strength. However, I'm only particularly interested in purchasing the Daiwa products for this particular rod. I'll keep that line in mind for the future. Thanks once again. Peter
  22. if your after a thin braid thats super strong cant go pasts ygk pentagram, pe 0.8 is 16lb, pe 0.6 is 14lb. Its all i run on my light reels. planning on getting a kix myself and that will be my choice of braid on it definitly.
  23. Diawa Jbraid is decent braid, i have come close to buying it before. Spin or baitcaster?
