I'll always love the game and watch it. Refereeing will always be under the pump as they have to make/deal with a lot of decisions from new rules etc each game. They're only human. However when it comes to the Bunker they definitely need to clean up their act. They have all the extra time they need to make a decision so the fail rate should be a lot lower and their interventions need to be more consistent.

It is more the bunker I am frustrated with. I love NRL but just am getting so frustrated lately.

  2. Hey lads and ladets is anyone else really over the inconsistency in the refereeing and the interpretations of rules. There was so many bad calls in games over the last few weekends and the amount of forward passes being thrown and not pulled up. It is getting ridiculous. I have been a long time NRL fan but I am getting so close to not bothering to watch anymore as it is beyond a joke now. The bunker seems to pick and choose when they get involved and even then they make calls opposite to what is blatantly obvious. I just don't understand how has been allowed to become the product it is today.. I understand protect the head however people are shoulder charging and being put on report and then others do the same and get away with it. Some high shots are from the arm bouncing or from the players slipping but hen reported. Players being committed to the shot on a kicker yet being penalised. What re they supposed to do?

I wish they'd get rid of some of the decision makers outside the team. We're going to lose Jock Madden and Jake Simpkin (our future spine) because of poor recruitment decisions. We've signed Korisau who will last maybe 1 or 2 seasons before he retires. In the meantime Simpkin will go to the Dolphins or Broncos for sure. If we'd ditched Brooks, when we had the chance in the off season, we'd have given Madden a much longer go at half before Douhie came back and maybe kept him interested. Now he will probably end up at the Dolphins as well. These decisions to sign 'senior' players must stop - it's no wonder we lose all our juniour talent. So frustrating.

Agree 100%. The amount of good players they have let go in the last 6 years.

Thanks mate. The first day is a big drive so I like the idea of having an option to pull up early or keep going a bit longer depending on how we are feeling.

Is it worth soaking some baits out off the beach there?

I never caught much off the beach there however the guys just up from me caught some big catties there. I was using metal slugs. I lived in Innisfail in 2017 fished the mouth a bit on run in and caught some little queenies and blue salmon and dart. Go past entrance to caravan park keep following road its near the boat ramp. Park and walk out to it.

    Thanks Gad

I am looking forward to the Storm Broncos game this week.

Should be a good game! I'm not a Broncos supporter but I am from Ipswich and support Walters 100%. They are playing some good footy lately and really turning up for each other. Melbourne on the other hand have had a few easy and poor games lately.

would you recommend Lions Den? It looks ok?

    Hey man,

I stayed there in 2017 the night of Parramatta vs Cowboys semi final was awesome atmosphere and pizza was fantastic and the beer was cold. Camped up the back past the green huts. Showers and toilets were great after a long day driving CREB track.

Good luck @Drop Bear, I hope your trip is great. Yeppoon is always an option to stop for a night on the way up or back. Flicking plastics around any of the creeks/harbour/causeway lake may get you something.

If you stay yeppoon stay water front caravan park headong towards Farnborough beach (free access 4wd) used to catch blue salmon and queenies off beach up top of beach (15min drive) at rivers mouth.

Couldn't tell you sorry mate, I teach at a 'high performing' school ........ 😉.

High performing school is not politically correct seen as everybody has the right to a rounded education. Therefore it should read: "I teach at a school that seems to have an above average level of students"...... All this politically, sexually, gender efficiency does my head in as a teacher! Although being a music teacher my grammar was not always the best!
