In my years I've learned short but from reel to base is for Alvey and longer then 10cm is for spin reels anyone else have same opinion?? Was what I learnt as a young fella.

Hey I am not yet 40 ( well another 3.5 months) I grew up using Alvey then found spin reel and my favourite Abu Baitcasters! Alvey are so flexible except for lures and soft plastics.

Hamish I have both. I have a 13ft Alvey surf rod with a 640 Alvey i think it is... Also a 11ft Alvey rod with a spin reel i got off ebay for like $40. Thing with alvey reels is low maintenance can drop in sand and surf water and not worry too much just soak in bucket of fresh water after trip. Spin reel i do the same with but just throw it out every few years as i trash them in the surf. Cheap ebay ones seem good enough to not worry about too much. I will take pics when home in Ipswich on Saturday. PM me your number or email I'll send pics...

Also had a great calamari salad in Kuranda which had mango dressing all over calamari was stunning!

With the squid I make a crumb mix of bread crumbs salt and pepper and drizzle some lemon juice in! Also stuff the tube with garlic, butter and lemon juice then crumb.....

Hey bloke, Try Inskip point on the left not the right just before barge. Fingal heads caravan park amazing great fishing off beach and rocks. Hastings point just over border right on the river behind caravan park for bream and whiting, beach across road for tailor and jew. Heading north Hervey Bay be careful of looters though.... 1770 is great if you have road then kinkuna and also Woodgate area. Burrum heads is great. Caravan park right on water front in Yeppoon is nice too! Good luck! I'm looking at offloading boat and getting a camper to take kids to Fraser and Moreton need to fix a few issues on bait first. After sitting for a couple years while I have been away. It never sold had lots of low ball offers.

I hope so. The Broncos send off was soft and some of the tigers ones were caused by attacking player falling into tackle not the defender playing the high shot.

After the way this round has been refereed with the touch of the head and players looking like soccer players now to draw penalty I am so so os close to tuning out of my beloved NRL for this first time in my life.... I am starting to not care anymore...

Thanks Dropbear I just seem to get hit with a massive pile of S**t at once. Mum has three strokes within 6 days then a week later this rubbish. I am dealing with it all slowly. It's hard being diplomatic yet firm and stern.... Thanks for thoughts.

Recommendations on cheap heavy popping gear

When I was uo in Innisfail I used to use a Daiwa Pe4-6 spin rod and I think the reel was a Daiwa saltist 6500 the combo cost me like $300 but was marked at $200 for rod and at least $280 for reel but I haggled a bit with BCF and got braid added to it for free. It was stolen apart from the reel which was hidden a few years back... so can't give exact details... But it worked well out of Mourilyan Harbour -
I should have asked that before entering. Since it is Winter Classic I entered., I live in Childers. So fish Woodgate and Bundaberg. But come to Ipswich weekly so sometime head to Bribie Island.

Agree totally. They are wrecking the game and it is becoming a product that it isn't. How are they going to referee Origin? Will it be Touch football Origin? It certainly won't be hard hits and hard tackles........

Hey lads, Just need some advice regarding my deceased brothers daughter who is now identifying as a boy. She/he is requesting his death certificate however my brothers name is not on her birth certificate so legally she/he should have no need for it... PM please if there is anyone on here with info..

TBH I am so close to being done with NRL with what is happening with the referees it is not funny. I watched every game on channel 9 since 1990 when I was old enough to and I am so appalled by what is going on that I am close to just not giving a **** anymore...Sorry but it is ridiculous what is going on at the moment... If I start going back many places I have given ups tipping..

Hey mate I used to live in Innisfail back in 2017. try Yorkies Knob boat ramp there is a beach on the other side of the rock wall was good at dusk. Also used to go around the naval base boat ramp. Bramston beach is good as is mourilyan harbour if you have a boat.
