The motor and leccy were 100% wrapped up so only cosmetic issues for boat.
we had a **** load of wind so managed only two days offshore the rest was creeks however it wasn’t mind blowing as far as action went. The journey in and out was a real adventure.

I can only imagine how good a trip that would be. Paradise with all the fun stuff.
I bet someone will be getting a boat cover before the next trip. 🤔

I use a 7 foot 6 inch Shimano Cranx 1-4kg rod matched with a 1000 reel. 6lb nanofil and 8lb flouro leader. 1/12th oz jighead.
cant buy the Cranx in the 1-4kg anymore unfortunately and they don’t make nanofil anymore either. But any similar gear will get the job done.

Pummy Passage mate. Northern end.
Yeah she was sunning herself keeping warm 😉
Gulp Swimming minnow. 4 inch in Green Prawn
99% of the time it’s soft plastics mate. Use as light line and jig head as you can to reach bottom. Fish it nice and slow. 😉

Managed to snag a solid 88cm flat one. 6lb braid 8lb leader. She put up a good fight and swam away without a problem.

I am heading to the Cape for 3 weeks. Leave this Friday. Should bump into a few big ones hopefully. I'll let you know how the gear I take works. Biggest reel I have is a Saragosa 10000 with 80lb and the Twinpower 8000 with 79lb.
Jump onto youtube and look through "Pelagic Pursuit" vids. He loves his Daiwa gear, for jigging he uses 50lb line and lands plenty of good fish.

Built more for casting and fishing shallow (hence light weight and less spool capacity) but has the grunt to turn fish
It's light enough to use all day , trust me they are awesome
