Fastest bleed out is cut the gills on  one side. Heart pumps blood to the gills to re oxygenate. Iff gills are cut then it just squirts out
Same for fish. Dont cut the throat. Then your cutting the pump. (the heart) I wrote a thing on this ages ago. I used to be a longliner and have fished with other Pros that supply islands and general fish stores.
Then by removing the liver (with the guts) and the fins and tail removes the majority of ammonia and sharkiness.
Next time you catch say 2 tailor... cut ones throat and the other cut its gill. leave in bucket of water 10 mins. Then Ice..
    Compare the fillets when home.

Shark is great for eating especially the 1 mtr range..
Tricks. As soon as u catch it Bat over the head. Cut fins off and put knife through all the gills on one side. Strop tail and put in seawater to bleed out 5-10 mins.
Remove head and guts... Then eski for few hours,
Once you get home fillet and skin. Then cut fillet into bread size squares and fillet the fillet so it is 1-2 cm thick. The thinner the better. Then chop into strips and put in a bowl of milk for atleast 4 hours. overnite is fine.
When ready to cook rinse off pieces then roll in flour etc and cook.
I have left it in the milk in fridge for a cpl days too. It is still great
My kids love shark nuggets and even far north qld fish snobs have said it was nice. not knowing it was shark.
When I have a quiet day or all the big ones bust me off, there is always a feed of shark if reqd. I just tell me Mrs its Brown/Bronze coral trout.. hahah

Depends on what your fishing for.
I have 4 rods set up with 4 lures.  2 types/ styles plastic and varied weight. A metal slug, and a halco 130max. And other rods set up for different bait fishing types.
I rotate lure rods every half a dozen casts or so. Or if one is working i stick with it til it lucks out. Then go back on rotation. Not sure how many casts but there is no time waste between.
This is mainly at anchor, 20 mtr deep and fishing for Mac species, cobia and whatever else is roaming...

Mainly I dont wast time while waiting for a lure to sink. I work another until the other lure sinks to the bottom. Then I leave it there until I have finished retrieving then cast that lure out to sink.. Then work the one that is already out and sunk...

I also have live bait and or floating pillys out while I work 2 lure rods out..

Usually when i hook a fish i put that rod in the holder... let em run a bit while I clear some of the other rods.. Busy times when you mainly solo fish.

nah. first 30 seconds u usualy cant do much anyway. They run.
So i clear gear or you get tangled/crossed  down the track.
if they stop i pick rod up and fight em... and other rods in the holder I take a few winds when able. Just leave it in holder and wind one handed.clear it or shorten it up so its relatively clear.
    controlled mayhem... haha

    ahh well
when u only got a few hrs to fish, and the way the trade winds blow up home your lucky to get one decent day a month.
So make the most of it. everything pre rigged.  20 spare rigs ready to swap/ clip on if rigs damaged or sharked.
If I nail a few quick I head home before it gets too hot.
