I have had a wonderful time fishing recently and I have been wanting to upgrade my 410 dart  with a 6hp I’ve wanted to add a deck to flick off of with a trolling motor will this slow down the tinny

For gheets
I’m fishing around the Gold Coast and sometimes off at wavebreak
Also I can not get above 6hp which sucks as I am not 18 yet

mate i didnt high stick it and i had plenty of drag on i pulled the line and snap it took of the 3 os at the top basically removing 20cm of of the rod i asked a rod repairist and he said that i could get a refund but it depends

My rod recently was snapped when untangling my lure from a pylon after a fished smashed it and ran under structure its my new daiwa td 20 black 😭 BTW its a one piece would there be a way of fixing it or should i get a refund cheers, Myles

matewhat bait should i use for snapper?

i liked it and it had good and bad moments and was a great must watch

The jacks haven’t been around recently we chucked a g splash and a splash prawn and got nothing for 4 days no bites so we are going for big flatties my mate got on a 1.13m one but it snapped him off we use 30lb for Em but next after Australia Day we’ll go for snapper at wavebreak I’m using 20lb braid 20kg swivels and 30lb fc rock and 4/0s do I need a divider between sinker and swivel and are my swivels the right size also what bait should I use? I finally got my rod lol its a vanford 4000 on a daiwa td 20 black with daiwa j grand 20lb braid and some japanese flourocarbon 30lb with a 95 mm splash prawn it has been smashed against bridge pylons and i got it 3 days ago will this affect my catch rates? ive gotten no bites yet but ive only flicked when i practised im looking for a spot on the gold coast to flick the mmd splashie (btw the bib isnt chipped only the nose of the shrimp is and it the body has scratches) also is the flouro good lookin to learn how to use the mmd got any videos? im going to lake orr tomorrow morning with my mate hopefully i can hook a jack this season cheers, Myles

Hey guys its me myles ive realised after a few weeks of live bait fishing that i generally catch more jacks on lures so id like to buy a baitcaster for jacks and trevs i saw my lure box use a shimano curador 200 for skip casting but generally most peoples choices in rods and reels vary would any of you reccomend a baitcaster rod and reel for jacks and trevally

im gonna flick splash prawns and sugapen 95s will 20lb braid and 30lb flouro be enough or would i need to up the leader to 40lb as im targeting jacks, cheers myles

Hey guys its myles here ive already chose my first rod as a 5-10kg 7ft humphead td 20 black and a vanford 4000 for mangrove jack and giant trevally ive thought about makin a setup for pinkies of at the spit and near strattie and basically anywhere not out at sea that i could find them should i only buy 1 rod and use that for pinkies or is there a better sized rod and reel for pinks if there is please notify me, cheers Myles

lol my mates caught 5 snapper and a big gt on a sugapen but as soon as i arrived and we went fishing we got nothin looking forward to spending 980$ on rods and reels im gonna buy a baitcaster setup for 500$ and a spin setup for 500$ any good picks btw the rods and reels you reccomend must be for trevs and mangrove jacks im gonna buy the mmd splashie and a 95mm sugapen please respond with good options no trolls

Hey guys I've been looking to do some mangrove jack fishing with lures and live bait my budget is 300$ and im looking for a combo that I can trustfully cast long distances. The reel can be baitcaster or spin depending on what you think in the baitcaster vs spin argument feel free to add on what you think

Ill probs go for the macka as it has enough length (its 7 feet) and its 5-8kg and the shimano vanford 4000 for trevs and jacks. Im going out to south strattie is there anything else thats not a trev that i can handle on my setup if there is tell me what line and leader and hooks and swivel and general gear i should target for it going camping and fishing at strattie hope to go for some other fish thats not a trev

live bait and lures mate the mangrove masher is 4-8kg will this hold up with my shimano vanford 4000 for trevs and mangrove jack ill go for jacks in a couple days but i whanna target trev as im goin out to the broadie and out to strattie ill have 30lb braid and 40lb flouro for jacks and 20lb braid and 30lb mono leader for trevs will this hold up if it doesnt i can choose the supercasta which is 5-10kg
