With me cutting back work hours and no longer working fridays, (woohoo) 🙂 , headed out friday midday for a quick session on the snapper with son in the bay, and to avoid the weekend madness!
Beautiful conditions greeted us as we cruised out near Green Island across a flat bay. To my surprise no other boats close to where we wanted to fish, spotlocked and unfolded my deckchair , cracked my first beer and sat back and relaxed up on front deck of tinny while son baited up and deployed two rods down the back.
Well it wasnt long before rod tips started to quiver.... then screaming reels!. I stayed up the front with my beer and proceeded to piss myself laughing while watching son trying to handle two hookups at once. The least i could do was help him net them i guess hahaaaaa.
Three snapper between 67 and 82cm came aboard to say hello, all released hopefully for us to meet again next year a little larger and who knows maybe finally even a 90 by then ?
Had a great afternoon with son, recorded some better video on my phone this time,   ( given up on gopro) some more great memories for us to look back at. 🙂

Too true! Seeing as fires are banned may as well have a longer fishing session!

Honestly not much to the technique, just increased my line lbs as each trip we get busted off. Just patience really, fish for bream and whiting and dart are less frequent at night on Teewah. Always use pipis

There was a gutter to the right but where I hooked it wouldve been a flat sand bank. All 3 were caught within 30mtrs as it was right out in front of camp on an incoming tide. About 2hrs before high tide

I went camping at Teewah Beach chasing the usual Bream and Whiting and I did land a 61cm Snub Nosed Dart on the last trip on 9lb mono. This time beefed up to 25lb braid as we had other bust offs and we landed 3 of them over 2 nights. First one went 76cm, second went 91cm and I managed to land a 104cm that went 12.1kgs! It was a 20min fight and my arms were sore by the end of it! All were released. Just wondering how big these suckers get?

i am 99% confident that is a giant oyster cracker in the photo.  awesome fish regardless mate, would have been an epic fight off the beach.  was it around some rocks in a gutter along the beach?

What bait did they like? 

@Swagger you must have nailed the technique down for these beasts. All I can manage at Teewah beach are swallowtail dart, bream, whiting, flatties but I am only using pippies as bait.
I'm sure the campers would have got excited (as your were) seeing you pull that in. We quite often get the 4Wd spectators stopping if they see bent rods as well.

Yeah it was chilly, had to rug up and the swell was pretty strong. Pulled like a freight train. Couple of campers came to have a look after hearing the commotion 🤣
