    Hi tugger

Great trip, and it's good you have been getting out of late.

The redclaw would be yummy too!

    Cheers Hamish 🙂

Redclaw was yummie we always take a few tins of coconut cream and minced garlic and sweet chilli to marinate the tails in the longer the better for marinating to.

  2. Navionics app I use has Somerset dam which you can download onto your phone or tablet device it has all the depth contours and I believe you can get a navionics card for your sounders

Sounds like another good trip, Mark, with heaps of tasty fillets to remind you about it in the months before your next trip. Plus a bit of creek work and some exploring. Life is good.

Life is to short Steve i love to get out as you know can't wait for the retired life where its an every day decision to fish somewhere and life gets better

I'm waiting for Greg to reply back asking is she has a sister Mark .......... 😘  She's definitely a keeper mate 🙂.

I was down tingalpa ck years ago and we were smashing plenty of good whiting and I said I reckon we should head off soon and she said nick off we will not be leaving we will keep hooking in while they are on the bight. She knows the costs and effort of big fishing trips why cut it short is her and my mentality.

    Hi tugger

That is a great way to spend a fortnight! 1770 must be a blast whenever you go up. 🙂

The colours on those jacks are awesome. Great job on another great 1770 trip.

    Cheers Hamish

I fell in love with  the place on my 1st trip years ago Hamish and the jacks did have some cool colours and plenty of fun on my light gear

    Hey ellicat

Rightio, I guess it must be a top notch bait. I'd assume you could get cod on it, because they seem to be a bit of an omnivore (well, more so a garbage guts) as I think they eat anything fishy smelling/looking that you get in their hole/snag. 🙂

    Cheers Hamish

Some of the best bait for just about everything Hamish

Thanks for tips tugger I think a may need a few more combos setup Ready to go for each scenario. Explains why you are on the fish all the time by working different rig / depth until find the fish

Stagger your baits as well have 1 close to the Boat 5m from the back and then another 10m then 15m and 20m. A lot of the time it will be the close couple of baits will be hit as the fish will come in for the burley. Use the floats to get the furtherest ones out and the close ones without floats. If the baits are being picked off on the deep rigs by rubbish fish go all floats.

    Hey tugger

That is a good tip, thanks for that. I will make sure to keep that in mind if I ever chase mackerel. In fact, I remember reading in one of my fishing books (I believe it was one by Al McGlashan but I can't remember) that when fishing for mackerel you should have on weighted, one unweighted, and one floated out just to mix your offerings.

    Cheers Hamish 🙂

Yes find where they are feeding in the water column.
