  1. I would say yes with that that dark bar on the front of the Gill cover and the dark bar on the rear of the grill cover.
  2. Great detailed report there @TheCharliefisho. You had lots of luck there, some good and some not so good. That Leatherjacket that your brother caught is a Tripodfish and I think a Blacktip one. Which is not that common a capture so he can brag about that. Keep up the good work mate.
  3. Great report Hamish and we need more people like yourself mate knowing when enough is enough and fishing for just the enjoyment and adventure. Oh and that mystery fish/Sole could be a Narrowbanded Sole ... but I'm no expert. If you want I can send that photo over to people that may know if no one has no further ideas.
  4. I am no expert but I would guess it's a Longfin Beach Salmon (Leptobrama pectoralis) The only reason I say this is it doesn't seem to have the black spot on top of the Dorsal fin as (Leptobrama muelleri) has. Always happy to be corrected but certainly not a common capture.
  5. Great fish and would have gone like a train but as Ellicat said Giant Oystercracker "Trachinotus anak"
  6. Thats fantastic, the photos are great now to look at but in 10 years ... 20 years time they will be even more special. And that time will go very quick.
  7. PFFFTTTT What could possibly go wrong.
  8. I've no scientific facts, but I recon is Learned behaviour and they know boats and boat noise make an easy feed. I've seen this in remote spots over years where its not worth fishing them as the sharks vaporise your fish.
  9. Now that's a great Report/Reports. Certainly hard work in all those conditions but some rewards to. Thanks for taking the time to post them up.
  10. Hi @Kat Brassy/Tea Leaf Trevally are commonly mistaken for each other, even very experienced fisherman mix them up. Brassy has a more sloping head than a GT and that White spot on top of the gill plate I mentioned before. Brassy Tevally. https://fishesofaustralia.net.au/home/species/1653 Giant Trevally (Blunt Forehead) and are the biggest Trevally species in Australia. https://fishesofaustralia.net.au/home/species/4268 Golden Trevally have those big Rubbery Lips that you can put you thumb in to lift up if you want to take a photo ....... and you wouldn't want to do it with the other 2 or you will get said thumb crushed. Smaller Goldens are a great looking fish but loose a lot of their colour when adults. https://fishesofaustralia.net.au/home/species/4274 Like most fish, looked after, Brassys are good eating and all 3 are good in Currys as they have a firm flesh. Great fish on that gear.
  11. Brassy Trevally also the White Spot on top of the Gill plate/cover
  12. Nice Trevally for your first. Also Called Brassy Trevally. They're not bad on the tooth either.
  13. Great report and some great fish. That Coronation Trout is a cracker. I think the last photo is a Ringed Slender Wrasse. Nice looking fish, good on you for letting it go.
