Good on you Brian for putting in the hours. Sorry you didn’t get the reward you were hoping for.

New Member Interested In Fishing Moreton Bay
GregOug replied to GregOug's topic in Introduce Yourself
Welcome @Woosha. I doubt you will find anyone who has experience with both boats, so you may not have much joy on here. It sounds like you already have a couple of reasons why the Signature might suit you better. Good luck with your decision. -
You betcha!
-
Thanks Andrew. I’ll get Neil to take a look for me.
-
Thanks mate. Is yours one or two speed?
-
Hopefully more like our big tuna last week.
-
I think you mentioned you bought a Penn overhead a while ago. How is it working out?
-
Hi Gad, From my brief research the TLD25 seems to hold around the same amount of line as a Talica 16. Are the 8 or 10 sufficiently large enough? And what about single vs two speed?
-
Thanks Ed. I’ll try that tomorrow!
-
Can I ask a dumb question? An 8 or 10 what? Talica? There only seem to be 8s and then 12s. Would either be large enough?
-
No. That would be too sensible.
-
An old TLD25 but the drag lever hardly moves before it’s on full lock. It doesn’t even get to strike drag. Lol. And an old rod I’ve had for many years. Would like to update a bit I think.
-
Now, I know we’ve discussed this before but I’m more motivated now after the tuna. Can I get some recommendations for a good rod and a good reel for trolling Moreton Bay please? I like the look of the Shimano Talicas but their price is up there. What size reel - a 12, 16 or 25? Two speed or single speed? I don’t want to go too large but I dont want something that won’t handle a decent fish if we get one. As for a rod, I like my Live Fibres. Any thoughts on kg rating? Any other brands? cheers Greg

Believe it or not, I actually changed my tip to the Broncos about an hour before kick off. I figured they have shown some class when the forwards put in the grunt work, which they decided to do tonight and I haven’t been very impressed with the Roosters this season.

Yeah, this week would not have been a good week for getting anything done boating wise, especially by Gold Coast boat dealers.
-
Yeah, it takes an extraordinary amount of dedication, research and talent to specialise in those three!

Thanks for organising the comp Hamish. I’m in. However, It is noted that you have omitted the three fish species I have caught this year - Tuna, Catfish and the mighty Deep Sea Toadfish. I totally understand however. You are from the southside, and hence concerned about the superior Northsiders dominating the comp. Best that the comp be rigged at the beginning to give you Southsiders somewhat of a chance. cheers Greg p.s Don’t forget to send the secret symbol to all Southsiders now so that they can start catching and photographing fish before the comp starts, the same as happened in the S.O.O.

Did you get it yet?

I’ve decided my goal this year is to see my name on the NRL comps page without having to scroll down.

So I see. But how can they get 10 tips right in a round? There’s not even that many games! I want drug tests done!
